    Understanding modified sine wave

I have been using modified sign wave inverters for 15 years or more and have only found one thing that wouldn't work and that was a hair straightener that my wife had. It had a variable heat setting and something about the electronics in it made it so it just wouldn't work. I did a search once...

Socializing in RV parks - is it just my experience so far?

I have to admit I am one of those that likes to grab a cold one, sit down in the camping chair and watch others park there rigs and set up camp. Sometimes it can be very amusing. Now with that said I will offer help if help is needed and if the person looks receptive to it. I usually walk up...

Recommended route south from San Fran to San Diego

Tom.... 99 is just as bad as it always has been, although they continue to work on it, it's still like it has always been some areas bad some areas ok. We have to travel the 99 every year in August when we go to our favorite lake in the Sierra. Jay T

Recommended route south from San Fran to San Diego

One more thing..... after Malibu to continue to San Diego get on the 5 or the 405 to the 5. You wont want to be on the 1 or 101 after Santa Monica. Have a great trip. Jay T

Recommended route south from San Fran to San Diego

You don't have to many choices if you are leaving the bay area. You have Hwy 1, Hwy 101 or the I-5. I-5 = boring, Hwy 101 better but after a while it can be a bit boring, Hwy 1 the most scenic and the most fun. Yes there are cliffs and the driver has to pay attention but it is worth it. Go...

    Class A Motorhome covers

The biggest problem I had with the cover was I had to get up on top of the MH to pull the cover up and on the rig. Then I would have to work it all the way to the back of the rig, with out snagging it on something. For me that was to dangerous, I just don't have the stability on the RV roof that...

    Noisy Water Pump

I did two things to resolve the pipe rattle (water hammer) that  I had in my MH. First I found the pipes that where rattling the most and insulated them with foam pipe insulation, this stops them from vibrating against the wood in the wall. The next thing I did was to install a Shurflo...

    Southern California Folks-need advice

I have stayed in all the RV parks in Anaheim and didn't really like them very much. The parks in Anaheim are old and have very narrow spaces. No complaints about the staff of any of the parks. The best park I have found in the LA area is Golden Shore RV Park in Long Beach, great location...

Hitch mounted bike rack on toad?

I custom made a bike rack that straps on to the spare tire on the back of my CJ7 Jeep. I have carried both my road bike as well as my wife's without any trouble for the last 8 years. I think the combined worth of the bikes is greater than the Jeep so, believe me, if I had any concerns I would...
