    R-Pod / Winnie Drop owners...

Update: We bought our Winnie Drop (they're now called Minnie Drop) 170K in March, finally took delivery in July, then took it from Wisconsin to Yellowstone NP & Glacier NP. We've also done a few local trips, including up the North Shore of Lake Superior. We've had zero issues with the trailer...

Outdoor Kitchen- do you use yours?

    :oWell that sure is wasteful.

Outdoor Kitchen- do you use yours?

We only cook inside when absolutely necessary. Unless it's pouring rain, the outdoor kitchen is our kitchen.

    Camp Ground Etiquette

Thanks for the unneeded advice.  ;) I should clarify that there are 10x as many really cool "old dudes" at the campgrounds as there are nosy, know-it-alls. When most of the campers are retired folk, it's just bound to be old dudes who are the culprits. No offense meant to all old dudes.  I like...

    Camp Ground Etiquette

I've only been RVing for a few months, and I've already had my fill of old dudes who want to offer me their "nickel's worth of free advice" during setup or teardown. It's condescending of them to assume I don't already know the basic camper thing they're interrupting me to "explain." I just...

    Benefits of POD type TT's

We went with our pod-style Winnie Drop mainly because of layout. It has a larger dinette area that will comfortably seat 4, yet still has the  bunks we need for the kids. The outdoor kitchen was also an option that sold us. It makes cooking less crowded and there are no lingering food smells in...

    Battery Charging with truck

I'll second both the LED lights and dual batteries hooked up to the trailer.  We comfortably did 5 days dry with our setup.  Battery power never went below 60%.

    Just for fun.

Mini Coopers are more capable than you think!  ;)

    Just for fun.

An Audi Q7 could get away with towing a 20-foot Airstream... maybe... but nothing bigger than that.

    R-Pod / Winnie Drop owners...

I tow level.  We just got back from Yellowstone & Glacier, towed on some rough mountain roads.  I must admit I was skeptical, but we've had no clearance issues with the waste drain.

    Weight distribution hitches

My Eaz Lift Recurve R6 is very simple as well.  I definitely recommend it.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrIqxT1q2FA

    Jayco v Forest River

Watching this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXMJrRQ3SVk made me steer clear of Jayco, but I think this type of assembly is probably the rule rather than the exception.  I'll bet FR and the others make them like this, too.

Forest River RV Cherokee Wolf Pup

Not all of us with 2 adults, 2 kids, and 2 animals want a big trailer.  :)

Forest River RV Cherokee Wolf Pup

We were looking at the same class of trailers, (including the Wolf Pup), and eventually decided on a Winnebago Winnie Drop 170K.  The side dinettes in these type of floorplans were not big enough for a family of 4, and the Winnie has a nice, big, U-shaped dinette.  We decided that being able to...

High altitude dry camping: 2nd battery? Generator?

That's what I'm thinking.  The inverter generators I found locally are: Ryobi Bluetooth 2300 watt, Powerhorse 2000 watt, and Generac ix 2000 watt.  I think I'll wait until after the trip to get one.
