    Let's talk about propane

That sounds a lot safer than inverting the tank and submerging the 85% fill vent and the overpressure release valve into liquid propane. Venting liquid propane is much more violent than venting vapor, the liquid is 290 times denser by volume and expands that much as soon as it exits the tank.

    Let's talk about propane

I just watch the changeover flag on my dual 30 lb tanks and take the empty one to be filled when I notice the flag has turned red. If I'm curious about how much propane is in a tank I'll run my fingers down the side, if I can't feel a difference in temperature where there's liquid propane vs...

    Motor home size considerations

That's a lot more stuff than grabbing the car keys to head back to the store for a loaf of bread.

    Motor home size considerations

Several people in the Escapees co-op park where I have a space (including myself) have done the same. Started out with a large RV or trailer, then got a smaller RV to travel in while leaving their larger rig in the park. Seems like the longer a large RV sits in one place, the harder it is to...

    No More Roaming For TMHI

I've had a Visible phone with hotspot for several years now. Voice and text are the same high quality as full service Verizon, the only times I've had data slowdowns have been in places where large numbers of people gather. You're the first to be slowed if a tower becomes congested, when the...

    No More Roaming For TMHI

Probably not if the agreement you signed states the Home Internet is only to be used at a specified address (in this case the one in Virginia), regardless of the salesman's oral statements. Home Internet is month to month (no annual contracts) so your only loss if T-Mobile chooses to cancel is...

What do you all think about this little camper?

Except the Bambi has full standup (6'7") interior height. The Type 2 uses a canvas walled pop-up to get standup height.

Sad Event at Quartzsite (with a silver lining)

There's stored energy in any battery, if it's physically damaged or defective that energy can be released as thermal heat. So yes, a damaged lithium battery could catch on fire just sitting around if the fault becomes critical at that instant. But so can a lead acid battery if conditions are...

    No More Roaming For TMHI

New customers won't need the little router - Visible now allows more than one device to directly share the phone's hotspot. Existing customers may have to perform an update to get this feature.

Trains, Difference Between Europe and The US

Wouldn't you normally LOOK RIGHT to see the closest oncoming traffic in the UK? LOOK LEFT would be the exception, only applicable to a one way street running in that direction.

    Adding a second battery?

When you connect the second battery, put the (+) lead going to the trailer on one battery and move the (-) lead going to the trailer to the second battery. This equalizes the overall wire lengths and balances the load better than having both leads on the same battery.

Lots of prep for a trip

When I'm underway I can see one of the trailer's side marker lights in the driver's side mirror. If I turn on the parking lights I can see the bulb inside it come on, a quick verification that the trailer's electrical connection is still working.

    Directions to RV park

I've given up on Google maps since they redesigned their map display and now use Bing maps (maps.bing.com) or something like the RV Life trip planner on my PC.. Google Maps's web interface now shows all roads as single blue lines with single color route numbers, no differentiation between...

    Where to next?

I like the Rocky Mtns part of Colorado. Depending on your timeline, taking Hwy 50 to I-70 is both the most scenic and direct route.
