Easy question I am sure, BUT I am new.

I know how you feel being the new kid on the block.  I was raised camping from about the age of 4 and that's been about 50 years ago! Started in a little tent and moved up to a TT.  I only started camping with my own TT a little over a year ago and recently upgraded from an 18' to a 23'.  I am...

Roof problems on a new TT

to the Clarks I have a Puma by Palomino which is Forest River product.  it seems to be a good quality trailer.  I used my new replacement this weekend and everything went well.  I hope it stays this way. I got on the roof and washed it to check things out real close and everything seems good up...

Roof problems on a new TT

If anyone has been reading about my roof issues on a new 2011 TT, I just want to let you all know the dealer was absolutely great in this matter!!  They gave me a brand new trailer - a 2012 infact - just like the one I had only without the "bad roof"!!  I went and picked it up this past Friday...

    awning protector

I bought a white plastic gutter.  It fits perfect over my awning to protect it from the weather - unfortunately I don't have a camper cover.  I drilled a hole in each end and hole it on with two small bungee cords.  I read about this in one of my camping magazines.  Much cheaper than buying...

    Plexiglass on screen doors

TO CSI Man - No, unfortunately I'm in Louisiana at work!  Camper is back at dealer with the roof problems.  I may have the Lexan instead of plexiglass because it is stronger that plexi but I just refer to it all as plexiglass which I guess i should not do!  sorry.

    Plexiglass on screen doors

If anyone is like me, if I have to be in my camper, I like to see outside and I hate the solid door closed even if there is a frosted window.  I got this idea from my son's camper but I modified it.  You may have already heard of it or even done it, but those who haven't .... I bought a 1/8"...

small travel trailers/hybrids --single axle or double?

to BTTRAVEL I also check air pressure before each trip in all my tires.  It was a new camper that had only been on the lot 2 weeks so I felt that they were in good condition when I got it.  The TT I have now (with the roof problems that you may have read about) is a Puma and tires are...

Roof problems on a new TT

I believe this started at factory or either there were issues with original job and someone else came along and tried to 'FIX" it.  It looks like they tried to pull the rubber over the antenna or something.  Ill let you know.

Choosing Correct Sway Control/Weight Distribution Hitch

Thanks .  I do do that and it works  to lift them high enough but I think it is too tight where the bars connect to the receiver to swing the bars from outward position to inward poaition to attach to slings on tongue of trailer.  Would it hurt to loosen the bolts slightly?

Roof problems on a new TT

To Gary Thank you for your response but  read on please. If I knew how to send you pics, I would.  the tear is around the smaller antenna connection and there is a cut or "miscut" around the main antenna.  this is old damage because the rubber is actually curled and dried on the edges.  The...

Roof problems on a new TT

Thank You!  That is my thought too.  I'll find out tomorrow when I go back to the dealer and see what they say.  without them seeing it, they said "fix".  there is NO fix to this - maybe if it was a used older trailer.

small travel trailers/hybrids --single axle or double?

I recently traded my Jayco 165 (18') with one axle.  I originally decided on one axle because (thinking like a woman) I would only have to buy 2 new tires instead of 4 when the time came for replacement. My camper only weighed about 3000Lbs loaded.  Then my son made the remark - what if you have...

Considering trading for a Jayco 365BHS - Any Advice, Suggestions or Comments?

I bought a small Jayco last year and it seemed to be a well made trailer and never had any problems with it.  It had everything the larger ones have.  Just not enough space when the grandkids come with me.  Plus I got it because it comes with a 2 year bumper to bumper warranty that most trailers...

Upgrading to a new travel trailer

AGAIN - I can't say this enough after what I am currently experiencing with my "new" TT.  CHECK THE ROOF of each one - they have been on the lot for a couple of years in the elements!  I wish I would have known to do this last month when I bought mine.  Bring your own ladder if you have to! OH...

    Rubber roof raised on sides??

to 1Joester2 I was told by rubber roof manufacturers to NOT cut or poke holes in bubbles of rubber roof to fill with glue because they said it would start leaking.  I have aweful roof issues with a new TT and it has long large bubbles and loose spots but that is not the issue or the problem -...
