Battery maintenance question: okay to use the charger converter to maintain a battery for a month?

No need to pull the battery, simply connect the maintainer to the battery and disconnect your trailer from power. Many small chargers come with a pigtail that you connect to the battery making it very convenient.

Electric Brakes on a 1,500 lb. Rockwood Popup?

Uhaul can do it, but you will be paying top dollar for the hitch and controller. These are simple to install on most vehicles, a do-it-yourself job.

Corroded anode rod and hot water tank threads? [image]

Yep, run a tap in till it just starts to cut metal. In order to better control the anode, lay some paper towel over your socket and force the anode into the socket. Now with an extension in the socket, you will have a handle.

    Is extemporaneous camping over?

Come to the northeast, summer is booked up and many Walmart's have no parking signs.

    Dometic 300 toilet

From the manual: Flush Pedal 1. To add water to the toilet, depress the flush pedal part way. Water flows into the bowl while the flush ball remains closed. 2. If the flush ball moves, let up on the pedal slightly.

Water hook up at a campground in the winter

For you, always winterize anything and everything that contains water if there is a forecast for wind.  All others need not worry till the forecast is for temperatures below 32 regardless of wind.

    Water Tanks Draining

I have been all thru that craziness, first there is never a vent line that sticks down inside a tank and secondly it ain't a siphon.  A port at the top of a tank with a hose attached will of course spill out water when the tank is tilted or the trailer is rounding a curve.  Just a stupid and...

    New RV Accident on Lot

So now they don't have a trailer like you agreed to purchase?  I would try my best to call the whole thing off.

    Water Tanks Draining

When filling a tank that has a vent, also known as an overflow, there will be no such thing as a siphon action.  The vent attaches at the top and the flow will stop as soon as the filling stops.  We can't see what you have from here, can you post photos?

GM will stop building vehicles with tailpipes in 13 years and 11 months.

There you go, trying to make sense of a subject that is driven by feelings.  When you look at so many "great" ideas that have been forced on us, people will defend them no matter what.  For example; the popular "retirement" system and health care systems that are basically a joke if examined by...

Sure, do what CA does, shift electricity production to another state.

    Furnace

If you are not plugged in to shore power, a furnace will draw down the battery quickly.

    pole barn for RV

I would close it in with just some vents low and high.  Lattice will be a maintenance nightmare with mold, mildew an other things growing.  Consider the nesting of birds and bees as well, they really take advantage of the shelter.  Sun does as much damage as anything, so complete blockage is best.

What has changed over the last few decades?

Almost everything has gotten worse, as manufacturers look for the cheapest labor, materials and suppliers.  Yes, some will point to the bells and whistles now installed.
