IPad with app vs dedicated GPS nav device

Thanks for all the help. I’ve used the iPhone on some trips, but when I’m alone the doggone screen is just too small to mess with in city traffic. I took a lovely Saturday night tour thru downtown Birmingham, Alabama because I was in the wrong lane. I was a shrimper in South Carolina for 40+...

IPad with app vs dedicated GPS nav device

I’m not too up to speed on this sort of thing. I’m hoping to do a trip from South Carolina to Montana mid June with my Cameo 5th wheel behind my RAM 3500 dually. I’m trying to decide on a nav system. I have an 8th gen iPad, and I get online via my iPhone hot spot. Anyone running a nav system...

    Ladder buying question

I bought a Werner 22’ multi ladder after looking and looking. I used it yesterday and I like it. It’s rated to 375 lb. It has more material in it than the Gorilla ladder, which looks good, too. I like this one because it separates into two trestles to set up a small scaffold rig.

    Ladder buying question

Thanks very much. I’m 215 lbs, and my factory ladder doesn’t like that. I’ve climbed a few ladders and I know how good ones and not so good ones feel. I’m looking at the Gorilla and Werner combination ladders. So far, Werner has the advantage.

    Ladder buying question

Good evening, I’ve been off and on here for a bit, I have a 2012 Cameo 37’. I haven’t been able to travel with it yet but hope to soon remedy that. The factory ladder seems kinda wimpy to me, and I need something to be able to get up to where I can see the roof and spray it clean. I’ve looked...

Using iPhone for hotspot vs. Ellipsis Jetpack

I've done a few tests or comparisons. When the Ellipsis has stuttered or coughed, so to speak, I've set up the iPhone and it's been way, way faster. I like to look at music video in the evening, old concert stuff, and the phone is lots faster loading and smoother playing. It's a new SE, I'd...

Using iPhone for hotspot vs. Ellipsis Jetpack

Thanks for all the replies. I'll look into a better one, depending on cost. This little Ellipsis hockey puck isn't earning it's keep.

Using iPhone for hotspot vs. Ellipsis Jetpack

When I moved to my current location I changed my phone plan with Verizon and was advised the Jetpack was the way to go for a hotspot connection to the laptop. (I'm using the Wilson booster rig.) I've been using the jetpack since early August, I guess, and it sure looks to me as tho the iPhone...

Regional accents and words thats typical to the old timers of my coastal waters

A good friend of mine was working on a large building project on Parris Island, SC. He needed some parts and such, so he had an office person put in a call to a manufacturer in Philadelphia. When the package arrived it was addressed to Perris Allen, South Carolina. "Mommicked" is my favorite...

There's an app - Legal Heat - recommended by two family LEO's, good information on what's legal where.

    Fifth Airborne hitch question

Thanks for the help, guys. I'm not sure yet if me and this rig are going to hook up, so to speak. If so, you'll know it. I'll be spouting questions like a hot volcano.

    Fifth Airborne hitch question

I'm looking at a 5'er with that system. From what I read, it's designed for short bed trucks to eliminate the slider rig, but I'm known to be wrong. I have a 2016 Ram 3500 dually, factory pucks, wondering which way to go getting hitched. Looks as tho Curt says I need a wedge to make the Q20...

weboost - how well do they work?

I just installed the RV 65, I think it is, from Weboost, using it in a small plane hanger with an apartment. It came with the telescoping antenna pole. Cell reception used to be barely ok for voice, ok for text, and marginal to ok for checking email and looking at forums. Voice is now very good...
