    Slide Lube

Gary Thanks! I was looking for recommendations from the mfg but could not find a Schwintek site.  I did find the Lippert recommendations but did not know they owned Schwintek. They recommended the CRC PFTE lube. That clears this up a bunch! Thanks! .\Mark

    Slide Lube

Friends, We have Schwintek Slides.  In looking for advice on what lube to use (not for the seals but the slide mechanism) internet search produces lots of confusion stating you should use (and should not) i.e. Silicone spray, Petroleum Spray, Lite Lithium grease, or Dry PTFE lube. What are you...

    Trashed Battery?

I found a tripped breaker and now batteries are charging.  I guess the converter is behind the breaker. Well... feeling a little stupid in that I should have checked the breakers first.  But now I've got to watch to see if that breaker trips again then I'll need to figure out what's causing...

    Trashed Battery?

Checked water level, ok in both, all plates covered. Tested with a hydrometer, one battery in the good (green) range 1.260, 2nd battery in the ?recharge? (red) range. Connected to shore power for 4 hours with battery disconnect on (I know pretty short time) monitor says 9.8v. Will leave it...

    Trashed Battery?

Friends, I've had my RV for almost a year.  At home, it is parked in our drive and has access to electric.  I have had the RV plugged in (just 15a circuit) for 95% of the time.  Yesterday I was having a problem with a radio in the RV (kept turning on/off on it's own) so yesterday I turn the...

Looking for a Really Bright Flashlight

All, Thanks for all the responses. Looked at the Pelican's but surprisingly pretty few of their published outputs are above 1,000 Lumens, but the two I looked at (>1,000 Lumens) were $160 to $270.  Hard to justify those $$. Agree on the AA vs. AAA battery supply (AA=better) but I too have...

Looking for a Really Bright Flashlight

Does anyone have a really bright flashlight (i.e >1,000 Lumens) that they really like?  I've had several of the smaller tactical styles ($10-$20 range) that profess to be really bright but they fall well short of what I've been looking for.  Amazon is rife with these types that claim superior...

Sanitize & Draining Fresh water tank

kdbgoat -- agree, same configuration as mine.  While I really would like it to drain within an hour, it's just not that big a deal.  Not a feature I anticipate using but couple times a year. .\Mark

Sanitize & Draining Fresh water tank

Hmmm it's a 50 gal tank, started to drain (was close to full-full) at about 11:30am, it's now 4:45pm and has about a 3rd remaining, so... 33gal in 5 hours = 6.6/gal hr. In my mind that's real slow.  But this is the only RV I've owned so I don't know what the typical rate would be. .\Mark

Sanitize & Draining Fresh water tank

Yup.  It's is just the design.  I even backed it up the drive a little so the low point drain was definitely lower that the tank (with all 4 wheels chocked). To speed it up, I also ran the outside shower until it got down a little past 1/3 tank then just used the low point drain.  Didn't want...

Sanitize & Draining Fresh water tank

HA!!  You mean the panel right next to the "Low Point Drain" sign?  I can't believe I missed that.  I knew I'd seen a Low Point label somewhere but couldn't remember where. Not the 1st time I've made myself look stupid! ...and Oh my God that drains slow.  I opened up all of the faucets to...

Sanitize & Draining Fresh water tank

Friends, We?ve had our RV 6 months now and was going to sanitize the fresh water tank.  It?s parked at home and after sanitizing it, I wanted to just drain the fresh water tank & not empty it into the Gray tank necessitating a trip to a dump station (it?s just fresh water with a little bleach)...

Hot water heater, leave it on or only when in use

This might be a dumb question but... when your connected to shore power ( FHUs), do you leave your HW heater on (electric) or only turn it on anticipating showers etc. then turn it off when done?  I?ve been turning ours on/off. .\Mark

    RVs and EZ Pass

What do you all do to use EZPass on your RVs?  I don't see an option for an EZ pass for our class C or other RVs on the Maryland EZPass website. We have a 32' RV with a CRV toad (Toad has an EZPass).
