Ha!! I'm actually towing 9,000 plus pounds, 37 ft. TT  with a HDPP F-150,  and I have ~1,000lbs of payload to spare. The setup tows and handles stable and secure out on the highway , and no sway, push/pull from cars or big rigs.

Why would anyone try to load over 3,500 pounds on that light trailer when they know they don't have a truck to tow the maximum weight. That trailer will likely be over the dry weight, but not that much over it, and the proper 1/2 has the capacity, but he just won't be able to load it up near...

It can be towed by a 1/2, but only the ones within the ratings.  The Tundra SR5 double cab V8, Silverado with the Max Trailing package will handle it just fine with payload to spare , and the F150 with the  heavy duty payload package is another truck. A 3/4 isn't needed unless you just want...

You never answered his question. Why not just answer his questions, and if he is within ratings, offer advice about what he can do to enhance his towing experience, because there are things he can do to increase the stability of towing that trailer with a Tahoe.

My advice, be very skeptical about placing weight on advice about how someone with an unknown year, unknown payload and tow rating  Tahoe struggled or couldn't tow some unknown weight trailer, because that is a setup to scare you, and then they will try to push you into a very large truck, but...

Others say ignore the dry weight,  but the dry weight was important to me, and I based the purchase of my truck with dry weight as a baseline, and the gvwr as the weight only as a reference point if the maximum trailer weight was the weight I was planning to tow with all tanks full, or whether...

That version has the least amount of payload and towing ratings, and shouldn't be the model chosen if you have plans for serious towing.  The double Cab SR5 5.7 V8 is the sweet spot for serious towing with the Tundra.  You have 1,440lbs of payload, so you are short of payload capacity on that...
