It may be time for a new A/C and I have a coupla questions ...

MAX cold setting It would turn the compressor on and run it for about a minute, and then it would shut it off.

Here's what I thought was weird about the whole process ... When I separated the rooftop portion (compressor +) from the inside portion (Speed control and t-stat) I was fully expecting to see that cap tube that you mentioned and it wasn't there. Well, it kinda wasn't there. This may be hard to...

Thanks for the reply George - all input is appreciated!  ;) I hear ya about buying the used unit, but I took a chance on it only because the place where I bought it from was kinda like an rv junkyard of sorts. They have a bunch of campers there that they part out for - whatever. Some of the...

It may be time for a new A/C and I have a coupla questions ...

I bought the top portion only, not the interior part. I think it's the t-stat now because it really is the only part left in the puzzle. I think what is happening is that the t-stat calls for it to come on, but then "thinks" that it has reached the proper temperature and then shuts the...

It may be time for a new A/C and I have a coupla questions ...

Ok so here's the latest update ... I went down this weekend and I was referred to a guy who's been in the RV repair business for 30 years by the local RV shop (they only repair RV's that are brought to them and I was hoping to find someone to come out and repair mine on site). The guy came out...

I'm going to head on down this weekend and I think that's how I'll get the old one down as well. I'm still trying to find the best place to buy a new unit from though. Any ideas?

Thanks for the suggestion and the heads up about the weight! No, unfortunately my unit runs all of the time when it's turned on. Usually it's just the fan, but yeah, it's running. It's a blessing and a curse as the sound of it running helps to put me into a deep sleep, however because it runs...

Not yet and unfortunately I forgot to write the info down before I left the campground. I'll get the info this weekend though. I'm just trying to be as informed as possible before the repair man comes out.

It may be time for a new A/C and I have a coupla questions ...

Last year the thermostat went, and now last weekend the a/c was once again not working.  :o I have a guy coming out to look at it, however just to prepare myself for the worst, I'd like to ask a couple of questions. First off, my a/c (on my 1999 camper) is a NON ducted rooftop unit with the...

    The start of our remodel

WOW thats coming along real nice! I've never heard of that paint for the counter tops. Do you think it will hold up (scratches - etc)?

    The start of our remodel

Checking out the installation instructions, it looks like these planks are glued to the floor, whereas Pergo type floors are free floating. That may be where the noise comes from.

    The start of our remodel

I went with a floor that pertty much matched the cabinets, and I'm REALLY happy with the results! I don't remember what brand it was, but I got it at Lowes. It wasn't too expensive. Before: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15/godonnygo/Prowler/Prowler1999-pickupday030.jpg After...

    The start of our remodel

Instead of a laminate floor, how about Pergo or some other snap together wood floor? I did this in my camper and it turned out AWESOME! It's been holding up just fine for about 4 or 5 years now. Just a thought ...
