    Mountain Route

If you take I-24 to its end at I-75 in Chattanooga, you will have one significant mountain, Monteagle.  Not too bad, but the decent is about a 6% grade for 5 or 6 miles.  This is a rich area for Civil War history.  the Stones River Battlefield is at Murfreesboro.  Do a Google search for...

I-81 from DC to Charlotte and Back

If you- really want practice for handling hills, take I-66 to Front Royal to get on Skyline Drive.  Drive Skyline Drive/Blue Ridge Parkway down to Ashville, NC getting off the Parkway at I-40.  It will be a beautiful drive. Don

Need Suggestions, taking a drive up the east coast

Some great suggestions here.  If you haven't stopped in St. Augustine, I would consider it a must.  There are many places along the coastal route for great seafood.  None are really national chain restaurants.  Talk to locals to find the best places.  Savannah and Charleston are also must stops...

    Garmin RV 660 GPS

I have the Garmin RV760.  I like the big 7" screen.  The voice command feature is a big help.  You can enter addresses and also your RV characteristics.  This enables the unit to route around places that would be a problem for your RV.  It has not let us down.

    rving the New England States?

Many great suggestions here.  Just to add one, while in Conn. don't miss camping at Mystic.  The Mystic Seaport Museum is a must do. There is really so much to see in New England.

    Niagara Falls shake down cruise

We like Niagra on the Lake.  It is a beautiful town for roaming around on foot.  Your time frame will probably be too early for the beautiful flowers that they plant everywhere.

Drive time in Utah on route 12?

With the terrific scenery you can spend and entire day driving UT12.  One precaution I will offer is don't try it in an RV on a day with high winds.  The Hogsback is totally unprotected from winds, and when the hit the sides and roll over the top they seem to accelerate.  Those days it is no...

RV Camping Site in Sarasota Fl

Take a look at Turtle Beach County Campground on Siesta Key.  The beach is great.  I don't think they allow pets. Also, Oscar Scherer State Park just South of Sarasota at Osprey, FL.

    Southern Utah/Colorado heat this Summer

SeilerBird has it right.  How does 112 degrees F sound to you.  Very possible in Southern Utah or Northern Arizona at that time of year.  I have dealt with that.  No more for me.  Spring and fall for me from now on.  My advice is if going there get to the higher elevations for some relief. ...

    Charleston, SC part 2

A daytime tour is recommended to get an overview and familiarization with the city.  In the evenings I recommend a stroll through the narrow streets of the historic district.  I am talking the residential areas.  Charleston homes are all about the gardens.  In the spring especially walking...

    north alabama

All the above are great suggestions.  If there will be children with you, look over Oak Mountain State Park just south of Birmingham.  There is a golf course there.

Our First Trip to the Southwest

I love New Mexico, Arizona, and Southern Utah.  However, I try to do them in the shoulder seasons of spring and fall.  I have been there in the 112 degree weather of summer, and it is not for me.  For summer I would plan a more northerly trip to the West.  Rocky Mtn., Glacier, Yellowstone, and...

    Charleston, SC Campgrounds

James Island County Camp Ground is fairly close in with a far away feeling.  There are some full hookup sites.  I like it. Don

New Mexico is not a good place for RVing

Well, just noticed I'm wearing an Indian Concho belt that I bought in Taos.  It could have been made in China, but hey I got it in Taos New Mexico.  There is quite a lot to see and do around there.  Just across the mountain is the beautiful Angel Fire Valley.  The Enchanted Circle is a great...

How to remove stench of mice droppings?

During the clean up be sure to wear protective gloves, and don't touch your face, eyes, or any open sore.  Mouse urine can carry some very deadly infections.
