2011 Silverado & future TT upgrade?

There was indeed a typo on the GCWR, and thanks for correcting that !  The Silverado does have the towing package. We were thinking more in line of a larger TT as opposed to a 5W, but do appreciate that vantage point.  Presuming that I understand correctly, any future TT upgrade should stay...

route help: southern NJ to VA mountains

Hey Mr2guy:  We are actually leaving tomorrow (Fri, 7/23) morning and think the 95S to Fredericksburg route sounds good, missing the tunnel and beltway, but probably the fastest and most direct from our neck of the woods.  We had planned on leaving here, approx 15 miles  south of the Walt...

    RV With Pets?

thoughts about switching from TT to MH

Jammer:  Again, many thanks for the additional info.  I guess I agree with you on the point of learning one thing at a time.  Worst case scenario I could have (DH - hubby !) set me up, go on my way, stay hooked up and then come on home.  But, would eventually like to learn the total package. ...

thoughts about switching from TT to MH

Thanks for the tips.  Nice to hear the view points of TT vs. MH,,,,and who finds what more or less difficult or different.  I think we'd try to keep this, since it is so new and, of course, would rather NOT take such a financial hit.  I am hoping to get out this weekend for my first lesson in...

to those who've camped in the NJ/PA/DE region...

just wondering if anyone has heard anything on the Triple Brook Camping resort in Northwest, NJ?  It is along the Delaware water gap.  Have read the archives on RVparkreviews.com, but the most recent is a year old.  We have plans to go a first time trip planned in a few weeks and just wanted...

how to s-t-r-e-t-c-h your fuel ??

We have the 5.3L V8 and usually get about 14-15 mpg driving around town.  While driving this past weekend DH stayed around 60, and he did put it on cruise.  We did notice that when it was working to get up the more hilly part of the turnpike, the cruise control stepped down on the gas to get up...

how to s-t-r-e-t-c-h your fuel ??

So we ARE "new" to camping/RVing.  Have had a few trips and thank goodness we are all intact.  The kids love....and we actually are finding we enjoy it as well.  Very liberating and the outdoors...there's nothing like it. Right off the bat though we've noticed that we are burning through gas...

    Air Card vs. Tethering?

Wondering which will be the best option for my situation... I will have the need to work at times while on trips, need Internet access to upload info to my clients.  Currenly have Verizon with a "smart" phone and "data plan" that I already pay for.  I know I can "tether" the phone to the laptop...

how towing TT will affect time and fuel?

no suicide run this time, of course, but probably will do 1 long stretch, pull into a Wal-mart for some zzsss and rest, and then continue on; we are also toying around with taking an extra day off from work/school to allow for a slower trip there and back
