    Porpoising is out of control!!

A couple of years ago I had a RV dealer set up a 2007 Chevy Silverado for a new trailer. It was the worst job ever.  That's when I learned about Porpoising...  Scared the crap out of me. I got with a buddy who is a long time TT owner and he reset my hitch.  He lowered the hitch and fixed my...

Things to take along and not take along

We take two 25' heavy duty extension cords and a multi surge protector.  I plug it into the campground post and operate things like crock pots, elec. grills, coffee pot, box fans ect... outside.

Do NOT have a Pickup Truck to TOW -- Help on ideas to tow RV from PA to AZ??

A lot of RV dealers have guys who transfer RVs across country from dealer to dealer. Bribery works for me... These guys do it a lot on weekends. Give one a  $$$ good $$$  reason to work for you a couple of days. Amazing what folks will do for money.  :D

    Desoto State Park (N. Alabama)

Fort Payne ceased to be a Sock Capital when most of the businesses were (Out sourced) shipped overseas. The area was depressed for a while but it appears to be bouncing back now days. Like many cities, the DT area is now more related to 3 different Interstate exits.  Many restaurants and the...

How on earth do you decide where to go/must-see places?

I checked out each state on the Internet.  Some things I wasn't interested in, but others became a side trip. When we went to Yellowstone we figured anything within a couple hundred miles was close enough for a side trip. Same thing when we went to The Grand Canyon. It's what you make it.

What was your experience Good or Bad???

I like Topsail Hill State Park in Destin.  PROBLEM IS... You've got to make reservations in early January... I'm going again 5/1 for a week. I don't think we have ever had a very bad expierence while camping. (We have had 'To adapt, and overcome' a few unexpected obsticles. It's all in your...

    Desoto State Park (N. Alabama)

We just returned from 5 days at Desoto State park.  The Spring weather was upper 70s with nites around 50.  Spring Break in Alabama has wound down and the kids had left.  We hiked the trails around the campsites and had a great week. (There are bike trails also) Desoto State Park is a straight...

    Cable hook-up

I mounted a connecter inside my foreward hold, then I extended coax under and into an interrior wall where my TV is mounted. I had to drill a hole thru a shelf inside a cabinet, under the TV, I installed a double coax connector so I could flip back and forth between the Wingard (Bird Roost) and...

    Furious at some tire data!

Yesterday (103110)  I became part of the 18%.  I had a 2 yr. old Contintitental tire loose all of its tread amd part of the sidewall. I was fortunate that I was not towing at the time.  The damage to my F-250 was in the area of the left rear wheel well and the trailer brakeing system was also...

    another newbie towing question

I bought a 4X4 TV after being on wet grass and not being able to get 50' out to a park road.  A kindly Park Host pulled me onto the roadway.  I had already made plans to up-grade my TV so I added 4X4 capibility and have not needed it since...

Newbie buying a travel trailer, Scared its too big!

You need a bigger/stronger truck. I did the same thing you are considering... I bought a 28' Forrest River and used a 2007 Silverado as a TV. Mine worked pretty well on flat ground, but was severly lacking in the mountains.  (I'm more a mountain type guy) The lighter truck may be able to do...

Someone Else to tow our 5Th wheel

***** My dealer in Alabama has guys who haul all over the country delevering trailors.  Talk to one of the guys who deliver; you might be able to work out a private deal to occasionally move your trailor.  I've met several guys who do this on the weekend for extra cash.
