need a macaroni and cheese recipe

Agree upgrading the cheese and baking would enhance the mac and cheese.  My goal was to find a tasty recipe that uses Velveeta and doesn't require baking (no oven).  I noticed when I was making the dish in my multi pot that it was difficult to control the boiling pot of noodles to drain.  The...

need a macaroni and cheese recipe

Made it yesterday.  Turned out great.  Instead of a few red pepper flakes, next batch I'll try a little nutmeg.  No baking.  Made the roux.  Added water and powdered milk.  Dropped in chunks of Velveeta.  Pour over the cooked noodles.  Next batch will be even better as I adjust a couple...

Aha, it was Chico that was maligned.  I know some people who know some people there.  I think all of N California is lovely.  Sacramento on up.

using water heater in below freezing weather

I live in here fulltime.  However, I think I'll go back to using the campground shower until these really hard freezes stop.  If I need a little bit of hot water, I microwave it.

Thanks for the extra info.  Never thought to leave the plug out.  Mine's propane.

using water heater in below freezing weather

Draining via the outside plug is how I've been draining it for years.  I did it that way today.  Just wondering if there was an easy inside drain.  Thanks.

using water heater in below freezing weather

New help required.  Attached is a picture of the white plastic water heater valves in the winter position.  No water flows into or out of the heater in this position.  Question:  Do either of those two silver knobs on the floor empty the water heater?  I know one is intended to empty the fresh...

need a macaroni and cheese recipe

For a roux, I toss in equal amounts of butter and flour.  I buy butter in half sticks, which are a good measurement.  I tend to use Bisquick instead of flour.  I like the slight taste of Bisquick, and it happens to be on hand.  The butter to flour ratio is partly based on whether you want it...

need a macaroni and cheese recipe

Somebody emailed the perfect mac and cheese sauce recipe.  Make a roux.  Mix in milk.  Melt in Velveeta.  Combine with noodles.  Now we're cooking.  I'd probably saute a little chicken and some mixed vegetables in the roux once in a while.  There are definitely a lot of Velveeta jokes out...

need a macaroni and cheese recipe

Thus the reason to use the word "Velveeta" instead of "cheese," but I see the confusion with the name "macaroni and cheese."  I've never liked Velveeta much, but it's 1. cheap  2. on hand 3. easy.  Pretty much defines my favorite foods.

need a macaroni and cheese recipe

The deal here is I have a large supply of noodles and of Velveeta.  Just need to put them to edible use.  Key word being "easy."  I'll probably boil some noodles, microwave some milk and cheese, combine.  I've spent a lifetime not learning how to cook.

need a macaroni and cheese recipe

Does anybody know how to make mac and cheese from scratch?  Not the Kraft box stuff.  I'm looking for really easy.  Like two ingredients: noodles and Velveeta.  Should it be watered down a bit with milk or something?  Oh, and no baking is a plus.
