    Delamination ???

Had a house fire...lost everything.  Had a cover on coach...bottom caught fire.  Turn signal cover melted from heat...right side rear view mirror melted.  Now, when you push on the fiberglass below left side window...sounds like crinkling cellophane .  Insurance company says it is ice...water...

    HDMI question

I purchased a 2005 Bounder.  It has the old style televisions.  I want to replace those with smart TVs.  The ?switcher box?...sorry, I don?t know the correct name, that allows you to change from front tv to rear tv has coax style connectors...but the tvs have hdmi  connectors. Some certainly...

    Coach Handling

I have a new to me 2005 Bounder on Ford?s f53 chassis.  My questions are what handling fixes can I have done on an over time basis, and the priority for each.  If anyone has an estimate of cost for each proposed fix...that would be helpful.  It?s big, kinda heavy, I understand that.  I...

    Insurance

Picked my 2006 Bounder today.  Love it so far. I needed to get insurance so I called my long time insurer...USAA.  They do not underwrite motorhome, so they sent me to another insurer.    Imagine my surprise to find a costs of $822 for a year.  Is that typical for older motor homes?  I am...

    Bounder

I have purchased a 2006 Bounder in immaculate condition.  Only 27,000 miles.  Bought it from a friend of a friend. Checked a website that has 230 negative reviews on the bounder. Anyone own one that has positive things to say about the coach?  Sure hope so.

    Yet Another A/C Question

I am looking at the purchase of an older 32 foot Winnebago motorhome.  It has one 15,000btu A/C.  Additionally is is wired for 30 amps so adding another a/c unit is not possible.  Owner swears the coach stays cool even on hot Florida days. Talked to Winnebago dealer and he says it should be...

    Air Conditioning

I have found a MH that I like.  One owner, 32 foot Winnebago Adventurer.  The big concern I have is the engine A/C is inop.  Owner says they just run the house A/C and no problem. So, my question is the estimated repair cost, assuming new compressor, and probable coolant swap over since this...

    Price Guides

Not to mention any specific service, but there are agencies which offer to provide guidance re the worth of used RVs. I am struck by the difference between listed value and what owners are asking for their used coaches.  Differences of 25% and greater appear commonplace, and even 50% not...

    Air Conditioning Question

I really don?t understand why, in light of the high tech insulation items we have today, heat gain thru the roof continues to be the problem it is.

    Air Conditioning Question

I am old now.  I don?t sleep well if it is hot and muggy.  Here in the mid-south, humidity can be unbearable.  Spent a week last August at a 30 amp site.  The weather was hot, the humidity oppressive.  I could only run the one A/C unit.  Nights were OK...days not so much.

    Air Conditioning Question

There are two class C coaches in the area I have viewed.  Both are 31 footers....one Winnie and a Jayco. My question is the number of A/C units on a coach of that size.  Each of these has only one A/C.  Even though ducted...is this enough cooling for that large a coach?  My current TT has two...

Do Not Do As I Do

I am 72. My sister says she will go.  She wants to but her husband plans to sit on his recliner until the undertaker arrives.  He will do nothing. My great nieces love the camper....but they are involved in dance, soccer, swim team, etc.  no way their mom will carve out time to visit uncle...

Do Not Do As I Do

I am a Newby who have checked off the mistake blocks one by one.  Some lessons prove to be more expensive than others. My biggest mistake was in purchasing a large trailer in the belief my family would wish to participate.  Wrong.  Really wrong.  So, it ends up just me and two big dogs in a...

    Guess I Should Laugh...but I don?t want to.

The problem is not as unusual as I thought.  The pickup itself is a hard plastic that joins a different piece that flares out and has a screen in it .  Apparently, this piece breaks off and just lays there in the tank.  Problem happens when fuel is lower than 1/4 full.  In some cases the broken...

    Guess I Should Laugh...but I don?t want to.

Well, what really happened is not what they originally thought.  The fuel pickup broke.  There is a cute little pick assembly in the fuel tank that comes as a unit....$1100.  It has not just the pickup, but a pusher pump to move the fuel to the engine. Argh....an expensive day.
