How does a fridge work while I'm off-the-grid?

We have the same fridge in our Winnebago. We could use our tank for months on end just running the refrigerator. BTW that label reads 1500 BTU's per hour. 1 gallon of propane = 91,333 Btu. So a BBQ tank depending on size would contain 5, 10 20 0r 30X as many BTUs.

    P30 Air bags - front

Thanks to all of your informed responses the air bags have been replaced and are operating as described. I didn't take the wheels off as on a second more closer look I realized there really wasn't any gain. Used the vacuum pump. a little grease at the hole and a lot of LPG* phrases. Thanks...

    What about Oregon???

Have they put up the "Will Last Person to Leave CA Please Turn Out The Lights" signs yet? My nephew and his wife are planning on leaving once his retirement kicks in.

    What about Oregon???

Try Sequim WA across from Victoria BC to see if it is to your liking. Supposedly a very dry (for the Pacific Northwet) city in the northern part of the state.

    P30 Air bags - front

At one time a friend of mine ran a 'mobile home moving business and used cribs to stabilize units he was moving to get them to a proper height for hauling on a trailer. Cribs built properly are very strong and hold a unit motionless and make it almost impossible to collapse.

    P30 Air bags - front

Sorry guys I should have been more specific. I have made cribbing from 4 X 4 timbers cut and stacked to interlock under the chassis between the A frames. The machine will be sitting on these as I work from the outside looking in. Safety is number one with me.

    P30 Air bags - front

Thanks for that. I was looking at mine today and feel that if I jacked up the A Frame and took the tire off the side I was working on and then lifted the whole unit, then lowered the A Frame jack to stretch out the spring that I would get more room to fool around in there.  repeat on the other side.

    P30 Air bags - front

I am procrastinating putting in the front air bags I have and have been reading everything I can find to see if someone has and easier DIY way of handling this chore. My concern at first is how do you get the old ones out? I know this is an old thread but hopefully someone has a simple out for...

    Dry camping

My wife and I have gone better than a week on our storage batteries 1 - 12 in parallel with 2 - 6 volts in series and a water storage tank that is about 18W X 14D X 52L so whatever that holds in water. I will be adding solar to this as soon as they arrive as they are back ordered at the CTC...

Anybody store RV in ShelterLogic garage?

I have a ShelterLogic 12 X 26 canopy that made two of our wet winters here on Vancouver Island. The only problem it has was trying to hold up 8" to 10" of wet snow when the weather changed and turned to rain. This all happened between midnight (last checked) and 5:30 am when it collapsed. At...

What's you favorite dish to make when camping

Mine require fresh prawns, fresh dungeness crab and a healthy appetite, 1" thick Rib Eye and a large potato for each person being fed. Catch and clean the prawns, catch and clean the crab, cook both in seawater on your turkey fryer burner in the big convenient pot that came with the burner. Wrap...

Going to Alaska next summer and have some questions....

Sarge when you get into BC on your way north, look for Fireweed Honey when you stop for provisions. It's the only honey I like anymore. Absolutely wonderful stuff to use for toast and stuff like that. Dennis

    US Route 2 advice request

I drove that route from Sault Ste Marie, via M-28 to US2 and then on to highway five in Washington and north into BC when I first moved out here. Albeit I was driving a U haul but it was the same size as my present 24' C Class. It was a fun and exciting trip with some pretty lofty views. I would...

Help an Aussie plan his RV road trip :)

Your whole trip is a tad over 1459 miles so it is less than 300 miles per day driving. At Williams Az you can catch the old steam train ride to the lip of the Grand Canyon. Take I-10 Dallas to Phoenix Take I-17 North to Flagstaff (Williams is west of Flagstaff on 40) Take I-40 to Kingman Take...
