Cats with Claws & Screens - Not a Good Match

We will soon be traveling with our 2 elderly cats that have not been declawed. I'm concerned about what they will do to our screens. I've seen that some people cut out plexiglass to fit in the screen door to protect it from pets. However, in our RV, all the window screens are on the interior of...

Camping Memberships - KOA, Passport America, Thousand Trails, Others

We are newbies and looking for feedback on camping memberships. We want reasonably nice sites but don't need amentities such as pool, laundry, etc. We would rather spend our $$$ on seeing sights and touring instead of campground fees so in order to achieve that, keeping campground costs down is...

    The Winter that Never Ends

Newbie with a 2015 Tiffin 36LA.  We just had it dewinterized and are storing it outside.  Temperatures in Pittsburgh area are due to drop to 28 late this week.  What do I need to do to prevent any damage???

Remco Indicates to Ignore Owners Manual Restrictions to Tow 2004 Honda Accord

Wow, this is very helpful Gary!  It's an '04 Accord with 133,000 miles on it so I'm not worried about the warranty.  It's in great shape and we really love the car.  We'll drive it until it dies!  I just was hoping I did not have to buy a toad at least for a while and your answer did it for me...

Remco Indicates to Ignore Owners Manual Restrictions to Tow 2004 Honda Accord

Since we are now paying for our new to us 2015 Tiffin Allegro 36LA, I'd like to tow our '04 Accord 4 down for now.  Despite it's age the car is in great shape and I'd to avoid making another payment.  The owner's manual gives instructions on emergency towing but indicates not to exceed 50...

Using NADA Guides as Basis for Making an Offer

We are soon to buy our first RV, hopefully.  Looing at a 2015 Tiffin Allegro 36LA.  The one we are looking at today appears to be in good shape, at least from photos and is garage stored year round. My question is how to best use the NADA guides as a basis for making an offer.  Seller is asking...

Process When Buying from Private Party

Very good point.  I am assuming that in the USA, it's the same for RVs as cars.  The lien holder holds the title. In order for the title to be transferred to me, the lien holder, or seller if there is no lien, has to sign and transfer the title over to me.  So if the seller is currently holding...

Process When Buying from Private Party

I am assuming that when buying a used coach from a dealer they take care of all the paperwork for the sale, registration, transfer of title, etc. However, when buying from a private party, what is the process?  Where do you go to take care of all the paperwork that would otherwise be taken care...

    Another Microwave/Convection Oven Combo

OK, yet another oven question. From what I've read on here, it appears that for a large majority of people, it appears that they are able to do without the gas oven and make do with the microwave / convection oven combo.  So my question is what, if anything, are you unable to make in the...

    Hershey RV Show 2017-anyone going?

We went today.  Lots of good information available. I do have a question regarding the seminars.  Several of the seminars are conducted by employees of company's that make RV products.  We went to one on treating your toilet with TLC.  The presenters are very nice and do a nice job.  But I...

    Adding Oven and Booth Dinette

I put this question re: modifications in the Newcomers area since answers may have an impact on our purchasing decision.  We hope to be first time owners within the next year and are strongly considering a 2 to 4 year old Tiffin Allegro 36LA. Our preference (at least as of now) is to have an...

    RV Insurance for Full Timers

Hi there.  We are soon to be owners.  Since you are on the topics of insurance, would you be able / willing to indicate your premium.  Now I fully recognize that it depends upon your unit and usage, but when you are starting with zero knowledge, anything is helpful just to get some idea. Thanks!

Camground & Parks Restrictions on Length & Age of RV

Thank you all!  This is very helpful! So in general it seems like for safety reasons, one should abide by any length restrictions and that there are other options available for larger RVs. The 10 year "rule" is just to keep Cousin Eddy from staying at the campground or park!

Camground & Parks Restrictions on Length & Age of RV

At various times, I've read that there are restrictions on the age and/or length of an RV allowed in campgrounds and parks.  Does this happen very often???  Also, when restrictions are listed, are they strictly enforced??? We are considering a used Tiffin Allegro 36LA which is about 36 feet.  I...

Washer / Dryer - Is the Convenience Worth It

Thank you everybody for your feedback and comments.  Like so many things in life, what's right for one person is not right for another. No right or wrong answers.  I truly value your feedback as I go down the road towards the purchase of our first RV.
