Damaged shore power cord. Replace original pull out or install plug type

I have a travel trailer with a pull out type shore power cord. Cod rodent chew damage this spring. repair or replace? If replace (that's where I'm leaning) should I replace with a male plug and new power cord? Any tips to do so would be great. Thanks.

Wife and I are from upstate NY. Recently retired. Last year we took a 6 week fall road trip through the west. (Dakotas, Wyoming, Montana, Utah and Colorado. Loved every second, but pretty expensive. This year we are thinking a monthly or fall seasonal campground perhaps in the Denver area of the...

    power source for boondocking

Clearly a lot of people have been annoyed by the noise of generators. I can't speak for anyone else, by I always take great care to be respectful of other campers. Thanks to everyone for your input.

    power source for boondocking

Thanks to everyone for the info. It will be a big help to me and my future camping neighbors. Probably go with the Firman. Firman 2900W Running / 3200W Peak Gas Inverter Generator r

    power source for boondocking

Sounds like most folks are not fans of generators. How about the 3000 watt inverter?  good compromise? Checked on the twin Yamahas. Can't touch them or Hondas for less than $999.00 each plus parallel hook up. Costcos are not real Yamaha inverters.

    power source for boondocking

Going on a X country trip late this summer/fall. Wife and I will be staying at private sites as well as national parks. New to boondocking, but we want to enjoy the NPs and save some $$$. Looking at different generator options. A couple of questions... I know most folks lean towards Honda and...

    crappy question

2013 Summerland 2570. Dometic 300 series toilet. Was not sealing well. I was "snapping it shut" to close it. Bad idea. Spring cartridge broke. Spring shot out. Cylinder broke. Need to be replaced. How difficult is it to replace the foot pedal spring cartridge on that unit?

    Gas on I 90

Planning a trip late summer/early fall from upstate NY to Montana. Will be spending big $$$ on fuel. Wondering if there is a common gas station across the country? Maybe I could get a card with customer rewards to save money. Cash back on fuel spending? Trying to think of any details. Never...

I'm leaning to changing to mid August to mid September. Kids back to school. less traffic. Do the parks stay open till mid-late September? Also hoping to avoid the Sturgis crowd.

1st cross country trip. Looking for advice

One more question. Also looking at national park campsites. We usually glamp in private campsites with full hookups. I have no problem with boondocking. Looking for a small generator mostly to charge my battery. "Suitcase" type generators are usually around 1600 or 1700 watts. Should be good?

1st cross country trip. Looking for advice

Never took my weapon when camping before. Folks at campgrounds are among the friendliest people around. Last year I was camping the east coast, and found myself in Charlottesville Va. during the racial issues they had. Made me reconsider security for my wife and I. I'm not really worried...
