Thanks Falconhunter.    (KMA ttyR2.  If I want a clown I'll go to the circus)

    Upgrading spring shackles

We're fulltimers and thus we comne into contact with lots of folks...and a lot of those folks have had trouble with the OE shackles and hangars...not so much with the springs themselves tho.  Talked to numerous people who have broken OE stuff on the Al-Can highway which is where we're headed...

    Upgrading spring shackles

Thinking about upgrading my OE spring shackles on my '10 KS Fuzion 383 FWTH.  Any recommendations on after market HD shackles?  Should I replace the springs also?

    LOSING MY ENTHUSIASM FOR RVing

Don't get discouraged.  There's aways problems to fix, just like you have with a stick house.  I've hear lots of folks complain about those mas. pumps, i.e. sewer garbage disposals. I've had three different RV's over the past 30 years.  I'm a big believer in the KISS principal (Keep It Simple...

Thru the Big Horn Mtns on 16 with a big rig

Came through the Big Horn mountains on Hwy 16 yesterday (7-12-12) from west to east (Cody to Buffalo) pulling a 40' FWTH with an '07 Chev Silv Duramax/Allison 3/4 ton.  Right at GVWR for the truck (No water on board).  Got warned away from Hwy's 14 and 14A by Cody locals.  Neither is good with a...

Towing through the Big Horn Mountains

Gonna tow a heavy 40' FWTH through the Big Horns to Buffalo, Wy.  How is 16 compared to 14.  I'm right at my GVWR.  Thanks :P

question about towing with a diesels

nuffsaid ...good advice about Tow Haul.  Out of Tow Haul mode and in manual going uphill will lower your EGT''s however.  I monitor all temps closely and it's a fact. It's all a ballancing act when towing heavy in the mountains.  EGT's vs Tranny temp vs Eng temp vs braking.  Just have to find...

    MPG question

Never heard any bad about the 7.3  It was the 6.0 that had probleem-o's.  Then there's the human factor, i.e. engine care, driving habits, etc.  The 6.6 LBZ or LMM Dura is a hell of an engine, but I know guys that set their Banks, Bullydog, Egde, whatever, on "Extreme" and scatter them all over...

    MPG question

Looks like I struck a nerve with my FORD mirth eh?  Gotta have sa sense of humor bud. I don't get twisted when someone bags on my Dura,  or my past Cummins.  They both had their problems in their youth, .....but now that I think of it, neither were ever as bad as the 6.0...

    fresh water holding tank

yeah...it's tough to get all the water out.  I drive it with the valve open for good distances, and pretty much leave the valve open for loooopng time.  Seems to do the trick.

    first rv question

6 year old tires are not to be left on the rig.  Don't let them slip by you on that one or you'll be down by the side of the road....or worse.

    fresh water holding tank

Odor is caused by bacteria (unless you've put something else in there you shouldn't have).  Bleach is per instructions, rinse it, then leave the valve open and let the tank dry completely for at least several days before you close it up again.  Make sure iof you run the pump for any reason while...

New member of the triple-blowout club

This subject just goes on and on.  From a loooong time tire guy....these are the things that will kill tires....ANY tires.....  Not knowig the load rating, driving faster that the speed rating, high ambient temp. combined with low air pressure (including letting the air press. get low in...

    MPG question

Orlinsky  is correct.  The 6.0 had many issues, particularly turbo issues....just be aware.  I pull a '40 ft TH with an 07 Silv. CC - Duramax/Allison (Bullydog programme - 4" cat back exaust and a cold air intake).  Fully loaded with both diesel tanks full (23 abnd 45 gal), right up to the GVWR...

    Extended Warranty

I only got one because I twisted the dealer and made him throw it in. (3k)  So far, I've only used in once, and they only pay about 85-90 % (reimbursment after prior approval), but it sill helped.  Tried to get them to pony up for hotel costs while the repair was being made but they wouldn't go...
