Just a suggestion but...we live and travel in florida, but we use state parks exclusively.  If you come down from Virginia for a month...why not stay at a state park for 14 days and then move to another one for 14 days and thats your month more or less.  if you plan ahead you will get spots...

we only found out about that forum after our turbo resonator died on us 150 miles from our destination.  Of course we didn't know what had happened as we crept along at 50 mpg thinking the worst.  Its not much fun going over the bridges in Charleson SC at 50 mpg and losing speed as you try...

BTW  we only get 13 mpg and not the advertised almost 19....but we do tow a Wrangler that is decked out with 2 bikes behind and 2 kayaks on top and  keep up with traffic flow.

Nice.  we have a W-View, similar?.  There is a Navion/View forum that I'm sure you found.  Plenty of Storage and Bags of room for 2 adults and 2 dogs.  We like to spend a lot of time outdoors anyway.

If you like outdoor/water/don't have to be close to shops type campgrounds then this one is a good bet.  1 mile north of Sebastian Inlet.  We were there in Jan 08 and there were lots of 1 month northerners.  Most are waterfront lots.  Long Point campground...

In May we stayed at Grayton Beach State Park and highy recommend it.  My first choice not knowing the area was Henderson Beach SP but that was full,  we drove to Destin while we were there to check it out..and drove thru Henderson...I can see why its always full.  Its immaculate. Raked crushed...

I couldn't help responding.  We stayed here one night last August on the way north for a wedding in NJ...we liked it so much that after the celbrations instead of going to DC as planned we called Huntington Beach SP and they had 5 days open and we drove over night out of the madness that is...

Tom, they used a 3M liquid boat wax ...I'll have to find out which one to see about the carnuba. 

Well I suppose I can only talk for the East Coast...  Do all the State Parks out west have black top parks for camping ?  I don't seem to remember that but I know we did a lot of what you call *Boondocking* in Ca, Beach parking lots were quite accessible with no harrassment, I remeber...

Tom.  We had a boat detailing *company* do it.  We had the option of providing the wax or them using their own, we let them use their own.  I don't know what it was but I can find out. It was a young couple and they both worked for 8 hours ... Central Florida rates  ;D compared to California...

3 weeks later and $200 poorer, the beastie is now waxed to perfection.  Lovely water beading when it rains and the detailing makes it look like its brandnew again.  It took them 8 hours

Hi Butterflug...I don't know how many around here know what "gap Year" is, not a common expression this side of the pond.  Where I'm from its the year between high school and University....travel..go wild..enjoy... before hitting the books.
