Air Gauge type on 2000 Itasca Horizon

I am having trouble with what appears to be an intermittent gauge reading of pressure in my rear/secondary air tank.  I am wondering if the gauge is a mechanical one, or electrical with a transducer mounted remote from the gauge head.  Here is what happens.  On a cold crank after weeks of...

    RVP 6536 Basement Heatpump

I chose to post this article here as opposed to the Winnebago forum since this heatpump is used in a number of brands of motorhomes.  I think I am in need of the PC board that goes in the basement unit for my RVP 6535-871 heat pump.  Anyone bought one recently and have a source and a price?

RVP 6535 or 6536 Basement Heatpump??

Excellent advice DancinCampers, the label was on the rear side of the unit where the ductwork attaches.  It is a model 6535-871.  Thanks for all the replies.

    Antifreeze drain/fill service tag

I have a 2000 Itasca Horizon with a 3126 CAT diesel and there is a yellow tag on the radiator upper left corner, entitled "Cooling System Fill Procedure" that gives instructions for refilling the system with antifreeze.  My tag is readable thru step 5 and then there is a big ole hole in the tag...

RVP 6535 or 6536 Basement Heatpump??

My thermostat has died and I need to order a replacement.  I really do not want to use the number off the back of the failed thermostat because it is also a replacement and it does not allow, for whatever reason, operation of the heat pump in the "heat" mode.  It always goes straight to gas. ...

    Sat Dish conversion to SWM

Clay L, help me out a bit more here.  My receiver is a H25, which, according to what you said and what I read, is only compatible with a SWM dish.  Your last post mentioned a SWM8 switch being used with a round dish.  If I insert a SWM8 switch between my round standard LNB dish and my H25...

Substitute Delco Remy Alternator 28SI for Leece Neville 2824LC

Thanks Mavarick, I did wind up having the Leece unit rebuilt, due to time constraints and the fact that the rebuild price was reasonable.  It is the 2824LC model and it does have the Duvac terminal on it.  Getting it off the engine and back on was the real challenge, but that's just grunt work...

    Sat Dish conversion to SWM

I have a 2000  Itasca Horizon with manually pointed satellite dish.  It is an 18" round dish with an LNB that received excitation via the Sat receiver. Technology has outpaced this unit and most modern Sat receivers utilize SWM technology and are not compatible with the OEM antenna.  Has anyone...

    Winegard Answer sat antenna

According to this writeup, you are correct in all of your statements.  http://www.adventurerv.net/winegard-carryout-anser-portable-hybrid-automatic-satellite-antenna-dish-p-30269.html    Note, the device is named Anser, without the W.

Substitute Delco Remy Alternator 28SI for Leece Neville 2824LC

I've put this in the Winnebago forum because I think the substitution could/would be wiring dependent.  If it belongs elsewhere, feel free to move it, just let me know where it goes.... I have a 2000 Itasca Horizon with 3126 Cat diesel, 350 HP and I think my alternator is toast.  Does anyone on...

Hauling the spare tire around - Not easy

I've got 22.5" rims on my Itasca as well.  My big problem is that I have 3 different types of rims on my coach...inner rear (steel); outer rear (Aluminum) and front (Aluminum but different from outer rear).  Which would I carry?  :-)  The idea of carrying an unmounted spare is a good one if you...

    Freightliner Rear Hub Cover

That's a possibility Gary, I had the tires replaced a couple of years ago, but don't know if they balanced them or not.  Definitely no visible weights on the outer aluminum rim...not sure about the inner steel one.  Something else happened, which I can't recall at the moment, which caused me to...

    Freightliner Rear Hub Cover

I've got a 2000 Itasca Horizon on a Freightliner chassis and have thrown/lost 2 rear hub covers off the left side of the vehicle during my ownership.  The hub cover is a large stainless steel can held on by a single bolt in the center.  I've no idea as to why the left one gets loose and lost...

    Oil question

Synthetics usually "shine" where elevated engine temperatures are present for long periods of time.  If your vehicle has an adequate cooling system and the engine compartment is well ventilated so the hot air from the radiator can get out and your engine runs at a normal temperature then I don't...

    Air Dryer Failure Analysis

Just prior to Christmas I posted an article on how the air dryer on our Itasca coach had failed and left us stranded overnight at a rest area.  This is the promised follow-up on what happened.  New Year's eve presented a 65 degree day so I scrambled under the motorhome and removed the entire air...
