    A/C and Shore Power

I have a ducted A/C unit in a 30 amp powered 5th wheel. When I am at home and I plug into the house power, either 15 or 20 amp, can I run the A/C?  My RV technician said I could but I needed a 30 amp to 15 amp pigtail, a normal 30 to 15 amp plug would not work.  Need some help from the...

    Electrical System and Hydraulic Pump

It is a parallax power components electronic 7355 series convertor charger.  I did use some spray lithium grease on the on the slides.  I cleaned it offlast year however and I checked and it's not binding on anything...it just seems like the hydraulic system just wants to stop before the slides in.

    Electrical System and Hydraulic Pump

I have a 2003 Forest River Sierra fifth wheel and I have two questions.  It seems my electrical system works only when the battery is in place ie., when the battery is  disconnected no electrical systems work even though I'm plugged in to the shore power. Is that normal? My slides work off...

Help No Power from TV to Trailer

I have a 2004 2500 Dodge with a 7 pin connection.  I don't have brakes or lights on the 5'er.  I checked the fuses in the truck fuse box and the fuse in the pin wire connection box on the 5'er.  Everything worked when I put it in storage last year.  Any suggestions on what it might be or how...

    Weak landing gear motor?

I have only one battery and when lowering 5'er weight on the legs with battery only, mine seems slow and more strained than yours but technician said this was normal (Seems when connected to shore power it goes a little quicker).  When raising and taking weight off legs it definitely goes a...

    I approve this message

It may be annoying and frustrating but do not get so discouraged that you fail to vote. In my opinion, voting is an obligation vs a right.  We vote in the people who spend our money...if you don't like the way they are doing that...then vote for the person who most closely aligns with your...

Winterizing: Air compressor and/or RV Antifreeze?

I live in Cent PA and do both, blow the lines out and then add anti freeze. It isn't difficult, takes a few hours, and not expensive. Not sure why winterizing  is a cost factor to anyone who owns an RV.  It cost me $15 a few yrs ago for the equip to add antifreeze and less than $10 a yr for...

    An old War Story

It is amazing how reading stories bring back memories. Was with a Recon Platoon in Central Highlands and we were walking down a creek bed when an AK started barking.  All of sudden I felt pain in my face,  my eyes and face began to burn immediately.  I hit the ground and instinctively started...

    Slide Issue

Talked to the tech today and he said when the shear bolt broke that side (right side) of the slide moved out some and the other (left side) did not.  I have to extend the slide and measure both sides from the underside to determine how much the right side slipped.  Then I have to adjust the...

    Slide Issue

Thanks for the ideas.  I don't think this has system a gear box since the slide moves by a hydraulic piston that activates a drive shaft that engages gears on the shaft that move the slide.  It does have something that stops the hydraulic pump when the slides are fully retracted of extended...
