New Orleans in my 32ft MH with kids?

It's kind of expensive but Mardi Gras World where they make the floats and store them is a lot of fun. After the guided tour you're free to wander around on your own as long as you like.  http://www.mardigrasworld.com/

    Wheelchair accessible RVs

Hi wheelchairRVer,   A RV makes traveling so much easier for wheelchair users! I'm also a paraplegic and my husband and I have been fulltime RVers since 1993. Our RV is small though, so it's not the best choice for a wheelchair users, especially someone their own. There aren't a lot of RVing...

Reno's (mostly paint) on our "new" RV

It looks good! We cut our dinette down to a two person size and it really opens up the floor space - a very practical mod. Enjoy your new RV!

The custom travel trailer I am building

We had our small class C custom built.  Make sure to research very carefully before choosing a builder. We didn't do enough research and paid for it although we've very happy with the RV now especially with the design changes that we chose that are different from a standard RV. We also chose...

Family of 4 thinking of buying and living in motorhome fulltime

Have you read any of the Bumfuzzle's blog http://www.bumfuzzle.com/?  I really enjoy their blog because they have never excepted the common perception that everyone should constantly strive for something bigger and better, that suburbia is the American dream and he who has the most toys wins. ...

Were you sure before you started fulltime?

Both Tony and I were born with rambling genes. I've always loved traveling. He's always loved driving. A year long trip around the US in a Volkswagen Vanagon when we were in our early twenties set us on the course to planning for long term fulltiming. After sixteen years of working, saving and...

What things did you learn the hard way...or what advice saved you? Please share!

Always get to your campsite before dark. It's very hard to spot the little campground signs out on the highway especially if the campground is in the countryside.  And backing into the site in the dark is nerve wracking.

We've been going to Rich's Tire for years - http://richstireservice.com/. Nice people and good service!

    Handicapped Accessible - '88 Suncrest Lakeview '31

I also read your previous posts and, as much as I dislike discouraging renovation projects, I strongly suggest that you pass on the Possum RV. When there's water damage what you see is just a very small percentage of the damage. You'll be tearing out and rebuilding for a long time and it can be...

Trip planning advice needed San Francisco to Boston

This website is a very good resource for the type of trip that you're planning - http://www.cross-country-trips.com/.  Of course you will be traveling at a slower pace but the site has many tips on places to camp and even itineraries for each day. Enjoy planning!

What are the positive and negative aspects of Rving? (New member question)

Pros - warm, dry and comfortable. Absolutely no set. Can stay almost anywhere overnight which is very good if you're traveling and don't want to drive miles out of your way to use a campground.  Overall much easier than tent camping. Cons - it's so comfortable that you'll tend to spend more...

Do you guys have problems finding a dump station that is open to non-guests?

That's great! It never hurts to ask. We've had very good success using the sanidump site. Usually the the information is correct but if you do find an error please report it on the site. The man who owns it is very responsive to any new information that's submitted and tries to keep it as up...

Do you guys have problems finding a dump station that is open to non-guests?

We've run into this problem a few times and sometimes it pays to just spend the night at a campground especially when you figure in the cost of gas if you have to drive a long way to find another dump station.
