Importing a new 5er from Canada to the US

I'd ask the place you are buying it from if they have any insight. I have relatives that used to purchase building materials back in the late 90's from Canada, because of the exchange rate and bring the stuff across the border. It was a big savings. I would also talk to an officer at the border...

Coleman AC issues - One fan speed on cool

I'd drive it to a heating and cooling shop in town and have a guy come outside and ask/show them. The wiring is very similar to a houses furnace and thermostat. It sounds like a wiring issue at the thermostat. As an FYI, if you call a heating and cooling guy to your home and ask him to have...

    Camco 59123 extend stay

I gave up on the tee and adapter blah blah and just ran my own line from the front of my tt to the rear. It comes out at one of the tanks in the front and I gave an extra 10 feet or so in the rear to hook up to my fire ring or grill. I put a regular gas shut off in the rear and it works great...

Ugh - New to RV'ing, buying first RV question

Your answer could possibly be in this thread. Search above for  "sour Lemonade"  and you decide

Reason for blocks under ALS on concrete pad?

I'd guess is that the owner is afraid the 5er could roll forward a bit and the long thin metal ALS supports will buckle and fold, similar to a kitchen table that had really long legs and could become easily tipped if pushed because of the top-heavy factor

    Found mildew odor !!

If you go into a Home Depot or the sort, the stacks of plywood or OSB smells like musty wood etc. Its called chipboard also. My TT has the same seat bottoms made of this and it smells.

    Radiant flooring heat kits upgrade?

The big box stores such as Menards and Home Depot carry a radiant floor heat mat that can be used and installed right off the shelf or you can custom order certain sizes. Pretty cheap price. I even saw some at Menards not too long ago on their discount rack (maybe closing out a certain brand)...

    Equalizer hitch problems

Go to the equalizer website and it has a video on how to properly install the setup. You can also call them directly and they will give you the exact heights and location for each piece based on the type of vehicle and TT you have.

    2006 27ft Puma Reviews

12 yrs old... If it wasn't properly maintained or stored right it could be trouble.  Roof, tires, awning, cleanliness, outdated decor, rust, possible systems not working/worn out etc. Beyond a great deal, it could be a nightmare.

    Which Automatic Satellite antenna?

I have Directv and the King auto tripod (Darth Vader mask looking thing) Make sure you check with both websites/ companies and get the proper dish that is for your receiver and service. Once you hook one up and realize it is NOT the dish for your service such as Directv your stuck and it won't...

    Changing my thermostat

All I know about the situation is that I replaced my regular factory installed cheap thermostat with a digital one. I got it off eBay. It's a Coleman mack. Just changed it to a digital. What I don't like about my system is that I want to run the fan all the time but it won't let me in the...

    Ladders

Heard the same about weight and cheap construction as well as keeping TT's cheap by not including ladders. Mine has one and I use it as a chair hanger top to bottom. I'd add one if I were you. Even if you don't go on the roof, you can do an inspection often.

    Low E Window Film

I used to install the stuff. It will cut out the UV rays and some heat. I would suggest the mirror style of tint if you put the darker blacks it obviously will be dark and black and get hot. Doing it yourself will look bad, have it done by a pro.

    Outdoor TV Mount

I have an outdoor kitchen that looks pretty similar to yours. I took out the wall cabinet and mounted a 36-inch Panasonic tv on the wall where the cabinet was. I used the same wall mount you would use at home. (eBay, Amazon etc) The mount swivels and tilts and allows me to pull the tv off the...
