New member. Furnace in 5th Wheel Heartland Bighorn 3670rl stopped working.

Mike...just a thought...did you guys buy throw rugs for your rig?  Are the floor vent covered?  Had a neighbor in Az do that...shut the furnace off.  Cost him a over a hundred bucks...service call and labor to find that out. Wi1dBill

Does it make sense to own a motorhome?

Had a similar debate in my head.  To buy a park model in Az. for the winter or a bigger 5th wheel.  Bought a bigger 5'r but the decision ended up not so much about the cost.  In scale of 1 to 10 the cost came in 6th place. Wi1dBi11

Living full time in an RV park?

I have often wonder if this wouldn't be cheaper than the standard S & B. If you can down size, A nice Park model in Az(for example) between 25 to 50K.  same thing up north. Annual rent in AZ is about $3600.00 at a campground up north for about $1400.) (Current Real estate taxes are $3500)...

    Refinishing Headlights

In the Farm/Industrial market we used a clear coat paint that could be sprayed over the old paint to renew a shine.  Maybe a clear coat spray bomb would do the same thing to the fog on the lights.  Being that this are aftermarket lights that can be replaced I'd try a $5.00 to $8.00 can of...

What are you using to clean your roof?

My method is to spray S/S or Simple green of on a cool dry roof and then hit it with a pressure washer MAKING SURE TO KEEP THE NOZZLE 12" AWAY form the roof.  I'll rinse often and flood the side walls since the soap can cause streaks if not careful.  Let dry and coat with 303. Wi1dBi11

    Ants! Ants! Everywhere!

Diatomaceous earth which is used in swimming pool filters.  Sprinkle it around tires, electric cord, jacks, sewer hose anywhere the little buggers can crawl up or over. It is poisonous to them. Also to many other bugs that have what I believe is what is called an exoskeleton.  Reapply after a...

What does interior remodel do to resale?

Totally agree with the concept not to worry about the resale.  First, they depreciate fast enough so it's not like you are going to get your money back. We're on our three season with our 2018 rig and we still doing upgrades.  I know we spent over $2,500.00 and very likely we'll never get it...

    Ice on slide toppers

Generally there is enough heat lose through the slide-out roof that ice doesn't form.  That is if the heat is on and one is not dealing with a heavy snowfall.  Slide topper would protect the top seals from UV rays and protect from leaks from worn or damaged slide seals.  Turtle doves love to...

Does anyone know what this is?

Had a push button on mine that would hold it shut.  Use two matching color plastic retainers that hold screens in a door.  A couple of screws and works it's better then new, and way cheaper. Note: I was able to remove the cover and then drilled the holes for the screws and used screws just long...

    Hello to all from Ohio

Welcome.  Also from Ohio, but leave it for warmer AZ weather in the winter.  Good luck with the rig, hope it more fun than work.  But then again, most toys require work.. When one gets tried of working on it and the fun's gone it's time for a different toy.  I have a wife and a house so I work...

    Best Wax/Sealant

Very simply "XZILON"!!!  Had this applied to our rig when we bought it and I love it. NO WAXING.  Very few black streaks... and those general wash off with a rain. Bugs still plaster the nose but they come off a whole....whole lot easier.  I had it cleaned professionally, the first trip from...

If you own a late model Forrest River RV and the lights flicker

We have a 2018 Forrest River Sierra 5Th. wheel. After 2 seasons of snow birding and other trips. Several of the LED lights in the ceiling started to "strobe". Very simply the boards are breaking down. Since the unit is out of warranty I started to searched for replacement.  The complete fixture...
