Hi all! I have been thinking about getting an RV for a long time. I am a teacher and I would love to use my summers to adventure while still being able to work on curriculum.

I am looking at a 1990 Coachmen Leprechaun. I was wondering if any of you have owned one, and if so what should I look for before buying it? I want to make sure I don't end up with a lemon.

Here is the one I am looking at:

Thank you in advance for your help!!

Welcome to the forum.

Water intrusion is the biggest killer of older RVs, especially Class Cs around the cab. I would strongly suggest that you hire a professional RV inspector to go over the rig with a fine tooth comb checking for evidence of previous leaks, plus confirming operation of all systems. The fact that the seller says the roof was just resealed could either indicate nothing more than routine maintenance, or coverup of a leak they found. Only a thorough inspection will tell you which.

Water leaks can cause substantial damage to an RV, much of which may not be immediately evident (such as rotted wood, delamination, etc).
