First thing, take the front panel off. The converter will be below the breakers and fuses in the lower section. With a meter check the input, will be on the left side, and the wires will go to one of the breakers and ground. If you have 120 volts check the out put, those wires are on the right side in the fuse panel. If you have no out put, bestconverters.com has replacement modules that fit that space, and come with great instructions how to do it. Heres the link.

If you are thinking about increasing you battery bank I'd go with the PD4655.

okay i looked underneath the unit and found this

https://photos.app.goo.gl/sCiWqrp95CT2hsv62

the fan is NOT running - i am assuming that means the converter is off?

i chcked all the fuses and wires and everything looks fine

not sure what I should do for next step

could not find a battery switch anywhere

The fan is independent of the converter. it is powered by a Thermostatic switch. The fan off means one of two things

Fan not working.. Not hot enough to need it.

Not sure on the Magnetek but on some converters it will run even if you are not hooked to shore power.. IF the compartment is hot enough.
