I found out that both the deep cycle batteries will not hold a charge. This may very well be the reason why the generator will not start from the remote switch unless the engine is running.

 
OK got that issue resolved.

Next........Sewer hose couplers....how many different types do you need when traveling state to state and how do you know from all the different ones for sale which ones you will need?

Three "couplers" for the sewer end should cover you:

  • One that has different diameters and different threads. Something like this
  • A rubber donut for the sewers without threads. Like this
  • An elbow that fits into the above.

Camping World also has a few alternatives to the above. You do, of course, need the bayonet adapter at the RV end of the hose.
