2013 RV Forum QZ Rally activities

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an RV or an interest in RVing!
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Jeff, thought you might want to take a look at my downtown QZ office. Am currently downloading Windows 8 on my help desk laptop. It's a bit over 2g -- and my Vz is only 5g.

I started at the rally site using tethering w/my unlimited and that looked good at first - but then it started throttling down from 2.5 hours to 16 as a posted estimate. So I headed for my downtown office.

When I bought this laptop last fall w/Win7 Home installed, was told I could get Win8 for $14.99 from MS. But when I ran the diagnostic prior to download was told I needed Wind8 Pro to keep all my stuff intact - and that would be $40 more. However, just before checkout after I entered my discount code from Fry's -- the priced dropped back to $14.99. So am a happy camper again -- although it looks like I may have to do some driver updates.

Thought you might also be interested in the fact that a McChicken mini meal in Rocklin, CA w/tax is $3.54 whereas in Qz it's only $3.30! Just another benefit of coming to the RV Forum rally here.

Enjoyed breakfast with you and Jim this AM -- and learned a lot about my HD/SD tv. Thanks . . .

Wow!  Congratulations Richard and Linda.  I remember you two were in Quartzsite cheering for us when we brought our new 1995 Bounder into the La Posa site.  So now we're cheering for you from far away Oregon!  Enjoy!  You deserve it!

Tom and Margi

Richard & Linda,

Wondered why you were not at the Happy Hour! Congratulations on the new coach. Hope it provides many miles and smiles for you!!! ;D

So many activities so many things to say!  Introductions were made of new comers (Jim Logan's brother and wife) .  Sorry brain fade on names.  I think another rig  came in too  but alas I did not  get  their names. Frank and Barb arrived today.  I did recall their names. I watched for Tim and Marsha all day and Beth and Kerry but we did not see  them arrive.  Phoned, left messages, no  info yet.

First, if the deal is done, congrats to Richard and Linda on new rig.  Still waiting for YOUR official post on the topic!

Second this was the day of the Luau. Yes Bob B you had the wrong day to bring a dry camp  tip.  But if you dress in an Hawaiian shirt for next happy hour, you will match my husband who missed the  Hawaiian shirt I had set outside for him.  The  full array of poo poos set outside for  appetizers were wonderful but my hubby still required a meal .  My favorite things to eat outside were  Henry's soda cracker specials and the meatballs!
We retreated to our rigs  for evening  meals and  then I  reported to Chris and Mimi's rig a for a second (or is it third?)  annual Mexican train game. Pat D.  came with her Florida rules! Since neither  Chris nor Mimi could recall  rules we last played, Pat 's rules prevailed!  Many laughs later and  lots of rejection of friendships and  foul words, we had to  declare Mimi the winner!  I came in second, Pat was third and Chris was the biggest loser but.... he pours a wonderful wine so  I want him to have my second place!  Marsha where were you?

Enjoy the new rig Richard and Linda! You are a model of perseverance. Now you'll have to endure us all tracking QZ dust through your new home.

Here are a few shots of participants ( none from the sick end of the campsite) during our Luau.

So do you recall all of the names during the introductions?  Do you wish you were here?

How about IMG_2261-001.JPG in reply 250?  Maybe the diamond clinches it!  ::)

Do you wish you were here?

Seeing all those photos sure makes us wish we were there. So many old friends, so many folks we haven't met, and so many folks into the luau theme - Hawaiian shirts, leis, coconut bra, and a mumu. Had we been there, I'd have brought out the uke and we'd have had a singalong. Maybe someone would have hula danced for us  ???
