Dan & Marge West will attend,, we will be at Q on the 11th and attend the Western GM Coach chapter of the FMCA at Rice ranch from the 11th to the 18th. We will hunt you-all up on Sunday the 18th and head south to Texas on the 25th
for the rest of the winter months.>>>Dan

Hopefully we'll get the needed rain in So Cal during the next few weeks so Quartzsite will have plenty of sunshine for the party.  If we have a chance we'll be there.  Would love to see the group.

Marsha Charlie will love it, see you there.

Gary, hope it works out.

Jeff, Charlie always loves the desert.  It's Marsha, who doesn't like to boon dock, that is the problem.  We've also made RV reservations in Palm Springs for the 2 weeks following.  Some friends talked us into going to the Tony Bennett concert at Fantasy Springs Casino.  8)

Marsha~

Marsha, it is great to see you're coming, it will be great to see you 2 again, it has been a while.

Look for the RV Forum flags, and Henry's Texas Flag. Be sure and find us and come join the fun.
It just never ends. . . .  We're also Harley riders, but don't have our Electra Glide with us right now.
We have a new rig, no means to move it just yet but I am working on some options.  Look forward
to meeting you guys.  Welcome to our little corner of insanity....

THE Big Larry

Well, this snowbird is packing up and getting ready to leave warm Ohio and head to Sunny AZ.
Trailer's in the driveway.  LP tanks are filled, antifreeze still in the lines. Truck been checked over
Out of here on the 26th.  Can't wait to start working on my tan.
Got the route planned out so we're not staying in the same places the last several times we have made this trip.
Love seeing new and different places.
If I can ever talk the DW in full-time, There are a bunch of place we love to return and spend time (weeks or months) to explore those areas.
Anyway, enough of this rant...think it's might be a little cabin fever setting in.

See ya in a few weeks

Big Larry will the forums flag be at La posa? We  should be there the 12 th coming from Elephant Butte N M. It would be nice to hang with folks from the forums and kind of look out for the gear as we ride to  Vegas . Its a tough call Harley or four wheeler , In still researching the area for riding my 2009 Road Glide. I'm  open to any suggestion for site seeing.

Jerry,

Last year I was at Quartzsite earlier than the Forum dates.  In my case there was no one at the forum site that early in January.

I ended up meeting a great bunch of people that gather every year just to the south of the main tent in the La Posa West area, (first entrance on the right just south of Quartzsite).

This group is very friendly and I will probably be there also,  They have a unique name.  Years ago they were sitting around the nightly campfire as they usually do when it started to rain.  A passing car shouted, " what a bunch of Ding Bats".

This became thier official name.  They even have a flag.  They are easy to find and you can depend on them to keep an eye on your rigs if you want to go riding and leave it there.

You can always relocate to the Forum site as members arrive later in the month.  The entrance fees for the LTVA as I recall are $40 for two weeks or $140 for the season and you can move to any site and relocate as many times as you want.

Jeff grate directions the aerial view is really neat. We  should be there at the site Jan 13 we have no planes on when we will be leaving the Quartzsite desert.

Betty

It's in the book!

Jerry

I'll show you arriving on the 13th. If you care to to pass on your last name and home state that will be there also.

I believe Tom and others deserve the praise for the directions.

Step by step directions to the rally site were originally posted in the forum byJerry Fitzgerald. I merely took photos at several points along Jerry's route and used them to illustrate Jerry's writing in a forum library article. Bob Buchanan did something similar on his web site. Richard Sharp's brother took an arial photo and I merely annotated it before adding to the library; I vaguely recall there being two photos that I stitched together. This was before Google Earth  ;D

Tom mentioned Google Earth so I thought I would capture a picture of the general area and post it here.

I would still refer to the directions.  This does give you an overview of the area.

There are several directional web pages out.  If all else fails, my cell phone is 405.315.6125.  Don't write it on many
bathroom walls, just the better ones. . . . .

Harley riding in the desert is kind of tough.  Area around "Q" is better for 4x4.  Many of us own/tow Jeeps and we use them
to run the back roads and dry washes in BLM ground to avoid the inevitable gridlock on the local roadways.  There are however some really nice HD roads.  We had ours with us last year and did a few rides.
