Our 4 day trip to Muskallonge Lake SP and Wilderness State Park in pictures. Muskallonge Lake SP was our base camp to hike and see sites in the eastern Upper Peninsula. We got two hikes in totaling over 12 miles at Wilderness State Park in the Lower Peninsula.

Mixed feelings about putting our Aframe friend in the garage for the winter. 4 great trips in a few months of ownership, but sorry to see it stop šŸ˜•. This was an awesome capstone to the year!

There is a name for Michigan's UP (And the northen part of the LP) "God's Country"
IN fact one little town in the UP is named.... Paradise (I was glad I made it).
I'm in what they call the Mid-Mi Thumb area (just east of Flint) and do have a campground membership Not as beautiful as the UP though.

Agreed. My parents took us to the UP from Ohio growing up, including Isle Royale... it got stuck in me then. Weā€™re planning a trip next year when my girlfriend can get 9+ days off and weā€™ll have enough time to drive it and see the west side.

Great pics. I love the design of you trailer.
Thank you. We really like it and the functionality is great and its really comfortable for this 6ā€™5ā€-erā€¦ yet when putting it up, part of me thinks its what Rube Goldberg would sketch if you asked him to design a camper šŸ¤ŖšŸ˜‚

Hey Paul, just saw this thread. Beautiful photos! We love the UP, too. A couple questions:

1) What are your thoughts on Muskallonge Lake SP? I considered it when I was planning a UP trip for this summer. We've stayed a few different places in the UP, Tahquamenon Falls, Straits SP in St. Ignace and a NF campground south of Munising. All of them have been great.
2) Did you end up planning a western UP trip for this summer like you said you were going to? If so, where? We ended up booking the last week in June at McLain SP in the Keweenaw Penninsula. We've never been to that area.
