I have a Sony B/W Monitor SSM-721 AMR, that just quite working. Do any of you know what the problem could be? I was thinking it might be a fuse, either on the monitor, or someplace else. Thanks for your expertise in advance.
First thing I would check is to be sure there is power to wherever you plug or hook your GPS to. If not, it'll make tracing the problem a lot easier (i.e., fuse, etc.). If there is sufficient power then the GPS unit may be faulty.
It could definitely be a fuse but it could also be a bad electrical ground or loose hot wire. It's pretty easy to check to see if there's power getting to the monitor if you've got a VOM. If you determine that there is no power to the monitor, you should start at the back of the monitor and trace the wiring until you find the problem. I'm betting it's a blown fuse or loose/poor connection.
Sometimes I would like to be able to see what is behind me but my backup camera only works in ----guess what?-----reverse. This might be a solution. You use it in conjunction with certain Gamin nuvi GPS systems.
