I'm assuming that by the "northern part of the park across the bay" Bill is referring to the Schoodic Peninsula? (really more east) Or perhaps Southwest Harbor? (west)  We are staying at the new National Park CG on Schoodic Peninsula, so I will report back after the trip.

Yes you are correct. It is down east. I have been as far Down East as you can go in Main, Eastport Main. If you get to Eastport stop at Ray's Musterd Co. http://rayesmustard.com/

Thanks, Bill.  Trying to decide if we will take a day and go to Eastport.  We won't be able to cross over to Campobello, though, as we decided not to spring for passports for the family.

I would call and ask. You may be able to go to the park without a passport because it is jointly managed.

The park is jointly run, but it's a normal border crossing. The only time we've had our motorhome searched was at Campobello, and they were pretty nasty about it.
