We were supposed to leave Bar Harbor on Wed Oct 11th. Monday the 9th was my last day of work, Tue I washed and waxed the camper and that night I got sick.

Felt better on Monday so we gave it another day and left on Wed the 18th. Decided to do short drives so our first stop was, on the suggestion of a friend, Bentleys Campground in Arundel, ME. It was a one night stop, Bentleys is a biker bar with a motel and campground. The place was quiet during our stay, I was told it gets crazy during the season. Not my scene.

The 19th we went to Kampfires Campground north of Brattleboro, VT.

The 20th we went to Bainbridge, NY for four nights while it rained. 20.00 a night with Passport America, not bad for 50amps and water. Had some really good pizza too.

From there we spent 3 nights in Pi e Grove, PA at the Twin Grove Campground, it was across from Swatara State Park which has a nice bike trail. We did 30 miles the first day and 20 the next.

On the 27th we went to the Rockingham County Fairgrounds in Harrisonburg, VA for 2 nights to visit our nephew who is attending James Madison University.

We left the fairgrounds on Sunday and drove 60 miles south to Buena Vista, VA and are staying at Glen Murray RV Park and Campground, it's a city park with 50amp water sites. Another Passport America campground, 22.50 a night
We have wanted to stay here for a few years now but have been hesitant because they don't take reservations. DW called ahead and they said no problem getting a site.
Sunday we rode the bikes from our campsite to the Chessie rail trail.
It was about 3 or so miles to the trail which was about 7ish miles one way. We had to go through a few cow gates and at one point there were 3 cows on the bike trail, my wife asked what do we do, I said on your left and rode past them.
We rode around town, Buena Vista, VA, so we ended up doing about 25 miles total.
Monday we drove the Blue Ridge Parkway and did a short hike.
Not sure how long we will be here.

We'll be waitin' down here. Last night's overnight was probably in the 40's.

Around 10:30 here and 53* outside. I am searching closets for my parka - LOL...

We don't get to Apopka until December 1st. If we didn't have the last 3 weeks of November booked and camping with friends I would be there already. Lol
High today is 48 and the low is 25. I could use your parka!

I'm enjoying the trip. Will look up the campgrounds for a trip UP there from Maryland.

We left Buena Vista, VA today and are currently in downtown Knoxville.
We decided to stay more nights in Buena Vista because the weather was going to be cold. Better to pay 23 a night than 50 or more for the same weather. Lol
It took about 5.5 hours to get to Knoxville and we are currently on the top of a parking garage in the downtown. This has 50 amp water and sewer.
Knoxville Auditorium & Coliseum Parking Garage C
There a about a dozen campers up here but only one other person. It's used for tailgating during the volunteer home games. They just pay to keep them here all season.

We paid for 2 nights but might stay 4, we have a reservation Friday at the Beautiful Rock Campground in Rockmart, GA, want to make sure we are good with the area of not there are several campgrounds south of here.
There are lots of bike trails we can ride to from the camper so that will be fun.

If you hear banjo music ride harder.

4 of the places we stayed did not require reservations and we could extend our stay if needed and it was at 2 of them.
Since it was late in the season the campgrounds that did require a reservation, we were able to make them the day before.

The entrance is ground level, it goes down 4 more levels. Knoxville is hilly.
Its a different experience, last night we walked to a microbrewery and had a nice dinner.

We enjoyed our time in Knoxville. Road the bikesto the World's Fair Park and we did a 4 mile hike at the Ijams Nature Center with the dogs.
I liked the area so we will probably stop there again if we go by Knoxville.

Today we left Knoxville and are currently in Rockmart, GA at The Beautiful Rock Campground. The plan is to be here for 2 weeks so we can ride the Silver Comet rail trail.
It's only 25.00 a night with the 7th night free for a 50amp FHU site.

No trail yet, it started raining on Friday and looks like it might continue for several days. I have a few small indoor projects to do.

From our bike ride in Pine Grove, no site pic. We found an old cabin the state park is restoring.
