Been trying to solve problem with which brake controller to switch to. Have a brake smart controller that has stop working. Controller is built in to the dash of my Freightliner toter. Have been looking at direct link, does any body have and opinion on this controller. I am pulling a Nemar 5th wheel trailer 42 ft.

I had excellent luck with tekensha voyager. I've had the built in one's in the last few dually s . There junk. I have a 14 dodge 3500 now and have it turned up to 9.5. Same length trailer as you.

I've been using the Tekonsha P3 for some time now.  First on a large travel trailer, towed by F150.  Recently sold the TT and bought a motorhome.  Now using the same one for brakes on my tow dolly.  Its easy to adjust braking power and seems to do a good job.  The P2 is apparently just an older model and a little cheaper.  Their support was also great as I moved the P3 to motorhome and tried to find brake control wire on my F53 chassis.
