We are hoping to visit NASA the first week in April. Any recommendations for campgrounds? I will be in a 45ft towing a jeep.
Thanks
Brad

We stayed at Jetty Park Campground, Cape Canaveral, FL a couple of summers ago and would definitely go back.  Our 5th is not as long as your 45fter so can't speak to that, but go to Jetty Park CG on the rvparkreviews link above for the link and phone number.

This CG is a little hard to find without GPS.  It is very close to Cape Canaveral and also to where cruise boats come in to port late in the afternoon (fun to watch).  It has a fishing pier and space to walk and ride bike.  There is a link somewhere that gives the rocket launch dates and the park will usually be filled when this happens.

Spent 3 weeks on my shakedown cruise last December at Jetty Park. Very nice, full hookups, lots of OTA TV stations.  On the last evening, got to see the SpaceX launch (the one where they 1st stage came back down under power and for the first time landed from the pad where it was launched from.  Awesome!!

I fell in love with the Portside Galley which is just down the street from the park and has a great breakfast! Also the Victory casino ship is close by with a shuttle twice a day leaving and returning to the park.

Also, helicopter tours of the cape and cocoa beach take off from the parking log in front of the casino ship and there is a car rental place next to the Portside galley if you want to leave the toad at home.

Here's a link to the Park: www.jettyparkbeachandcampground.com/

Across the river from KSC (cross on SR 405),  nice place.

we stayed at manatee hammock a few years back when we were in the popup.  It was a great place from which to watch the shuttle launches.
The park wasn't anything special and nothing fancy but certainly ok, and I don't recall anything re large/longer rigs... just wasn't looking for that then.  I do remember it being shaded with trees.
I remember Railroad tracks nearby, not rattle your teeth close, but you could hear it.
Oh, and the fire pit rental.  No fire pits, you could use your own pit if you had one, or rent one from them.  I rented one and laughed out loud when they delivered an old perforated washing machine tub and a couple cinder blocks to set it on!

+1 for Jetty Park. Its a nice campground. You'll drive maybe 12 miles or so to get to the Cape, but its no big deal.

Howdy,

We too stayed at the Jetty and loved it. It was just a short walk to a beach from where we watched a rocket launch, very interesting experience.

Cheers,
