H Y'all,  Decided not to pay $3500 for the MB extended warranty so, being a gauge watcher, I think I should enhance my systems monitoring, beyond the MB supplied idiot lights, with a scan gauge. Anyone have any experience with them? My friend who is a line mech for Infinity, suggested getting one that plugs into the port then interfaces with my I Phone and I Pad via Bluetooth. Aside from reading codes and delivering fuel usage, I want engine temp, oil pressure, maybe trans temp and the ability to clear codes. I think most other stuff is superfluous but will accept whatever. Any brand specific info greatly appreciated.

I have one of these.  It transmits to IPhones via WiFi.

I also downloaded an App for my iPhone called "Dash Command" for software.  I think it cost $10.  It works great, however, if you want to use it continuously while driving, you might want to get a unit that uses Bluetooth.  I cannot use the iPhone for any data use while the WiFi is in use communicating with the Veepeak unit.

When we bought our Winnebago, it was suffering from a bad dash cluster, so to keep track of mileage and a few other things, I bought one of these:

I'm VERY happy with it. (and even though I have the dash cluster repaired, I keep the ScanGauge connected at all times.)

If you have a Smart phone.. TORQUE is the app I use on my 'Droid.. IT works with a blue tooth OBD II that plugs into, at the moment, my car's OBD port.

This should work with any Gas engine, Do not know if TORQUE works with Diesels

ALso, Verizon, and most other cell providers offer  a plug in unit (OBD II)_ that can link to Torque via Blue Tooth, it also provides Wireless internet and allows internet monitoring of your engine.. Kind of like On-Star/On-Guard systems. but plug in.

I've got an ultraguage. And have had it for several years. Less expensive than a scan gauge and gets pretty much the same OBDII info. I prefer the ultrguage's display as you can set it to have 4, 6, or 8 peramiters displayed at a time. I've had it in a Ford escort, Subaru, and now a 6.0 Ford van. The mpg readout in the gas cars was great. In the diesel, it's much less so.

Tx to everyone for their suggestions. I decided to go with Blue Driver. It is made for Blue Tooth and was very easy to set up with my iphone. They also have real phone support if u need help with codes, install or whatever.
