Corrosion buildup in Battery Compartment

I have heard about those battery mats. A couple of reviews indicated that while they did abate the acid problem, they held moisture that would cause a problem later. I have completed my project and you can see it at www.grossie.net/Michael/Battery_Compartment.htm or at michaelblog.grossie.net Will see in a couple months how this holds up. If what I have done does not mitigate the problem, I will probably just fiberglass the entire battery compartment floor and up the sides a short distance.
 
Well I finally did it.  Removed the Batteries and slideout tray.  Thoroughly cleaned the compartment and tray using Awesome, wire brush, mineral spirits and acetone. Primed the compartment walls (halfway up) and tray with Rustoleum primer and applied several coats of spray-on Bed Liner.  All is back together and working well, wish I had someone to show it to.

I am not impressed with NAPA's spray-on bed liner.
