I have a quick question. Do we need to purchase 49ers memberships in order to see the entertainment and art shows and stuff at the encampment?
I still highly recommend it since you will get the schedule of all events plus the money goes to the event plus supporting the park. There are some activities where people will check for a membership button, but the music isn?t one of them. The 49ers give grants to the park plus support scholarships for college students in the area. They also spend a significant amount of money setting up and coordinating the event itself.cadee2c said:I have a quick question. Unless the Government shuts down again, Sunset will be open. The information about limited opening was in 2017 thank goodness. We are also planning on being there a few days early, but exactly when is an open question.InVogue said:Well.....now that I look at the NPS Website, it looks like all is well at Sunset. OK....so I'll go on the assumption it will be open?
Watch the weather and make your decision at the last minute. We always travel with our cats, and they do fine as long as the high is below 90. The air is very dry and just doesn?t hold the heat the way a humid climate does. We make sure to pull the blinds on the south and west sides of the RV while leaving the other windows open and running a fan. Above 90 and we have to turn the generator on and have the AC running. However the average high is around 80 so you will probably be fine. Note that Sunset campground has very liberal generator hours.InVogue said:Hi all..
We are still planning on being there although we are picking up two senior dogs( adopting 2 13+ year old Cavaliers) so I'm a tad concerned about temps. Thinking of staying at that Longstreet Casino/ RV park( never stayed there but it looks to be driveable into the event area)? I guess I won't decide this until we get closer to the event and see how the weather is.
Yes, I am one of those that has to keep the doggies happy and comfy...? Anyone ever stay at Longstreet? hi

Larry definitely bring your guitar to accompany Pam's beautiful voice. We'd like to attend but doubtful that it will fit in our schedule.UTTransplant said:Bring your guitar Larry! There are some nice opportunities for musicians.
