Heading out for our first "long" trip

We're heading out for our first extended trip.  Two weeks.  I know this is short for a lot of you but so far all we have done is long weekends.  So, looking for any advice anyone may want to offer.  Our itinerary is start at Pegasus Farm Campground in Elkins, WV.  Then New River Campground in Gauley Bridge, WV.  Then Pipestem Resort State Park in Pipestem, WV. Finally to Hungry Mother State Park in Marion, VA. 3 - 4 days each.  We will be mainly hiking/waterfall viewing.  Open to any suggestions... things to see, places to eat, things to watch out for...?

We camped  New River in a popup in about 2007. It was just a place to spend the night preparatory to rafting the New River. That was so much fun.
