I have my motorhome parked at a campground full time. Here in Western Pennsylvania we have had a record breaking snow fall this winter. Yesterday the temp. got around 40 degrees so I wanted to start everything up. walked several hundred yards in a foot of snow to get there. Started every thing but the gen. wouldn't crank [ think it's the starter] I started to daydream about camping this summer as I looked out the windows and let me tell you I miss camping.

For you people who can camp all year is it still as great as I remember?
Just tiered of all this snow and no camping.
think spring think spring.

Absolutely. And if you take lots of pictures this summer when you've camping, you'll have those and memories to keep you warm next winter.

I live in MD and I can not wait to start camping again.  I love the snow but I am ready for spring and looking for new campgrounds in the area to try.

Jiggs,

It will be even better after your hard winter!  ::)  My family was from Greensburg and when we were kids (about second grade) we trudged up "Cathedral Hill" with snow almost to our waists.  I don't recall hearing about winters that hard until this one.  Jerry's sister lives in mid-Virginia and has been sending us photos of the snow piled up on their lawn furniture.  Quite amazing.

Anyway the crocuses, daffodils, forsythia, and lilacs will soon be blooming and all will be right with your world!

We don't have very cold winters normally here in Southeast Texas, but this winter has been colder than normal.  It might snow once every 10 or 15 years here, but we have had some form of freezing precipitation 3 times this year.  That being said, we went camping this past weekend in Austin, Texas with night time temperatures in the low 50's and daytime temperatures in the low 70's.  Very nice indeed, and yes, camping still is as wonderful as you remember.  Hope you can get out there soon.

Live in Truckee, Ca (6000') and have 5+ feet of snow on ground! Oh, the RV is in Bodega Bay on the coast and we are leaving for Southern CA on Thursday for a week to thaw out and warm up!

Spring is just around the corner and it's time for you to start planning your first 2010 trip!
