I have my first TT '89 Skamper which has rust stains streaming down the side from the city water connection, what is the best way to remove these and leave the paint? :-\

HERE is a bunch of tips on removing rust stains, including on metal.
Basically you have painted metal (probably aluminum) that has been stained by iron in dripping water, or perhaps a rust scale has even built up on the surface. Most hardware or home stores will have products intended to get rid of that. You can also polish it out with an automotive polish (a heavy duty finish restorer or rubbing compound, not just a shiner) but that may still leave a pale yellow stain.
