The nearest boat sitting broadside to the camera is the sister ship of our old tub. We spent countless hours alongside each other anchored/moored on the CA Delta and down the CA coast. Owners Dave & Lisa were previously forum members (they were RVers too), and in the last few years moved to Florida. In the last year, Dave had the boat delivered to Florida aboard a custom yacht transport ship, but subsequently sold it. The new owners saw this after Ian hit.

There was a tremendous amount of boat damage from Ian. In the back-bay there were big boats that had been damaged in the previous hurricane, still beached and abandoned. There's perhaps a billion dollars that were fine boats, now just a salvage mess.

When the FL governor talks about the billions of dollars in damage, I've wondered it he included all the boat wreckage. I'd guess there's several hundred million just in that picture.
