Thanks for trying guys, I give up!
Backup all her music onto a removable HD or big stick.
Delete the iPod cache on the laptop
Detach the iPod cord from the laptop and RESET the ipod..hold the select and menu
down at the same time for 5 seconds or so until it flashes back on...it is now reset
to default values...
Delete the iTunes software (ie, Remove it with the windows control panel remove feature)
Download a fresh version of iTunes...latest works super...
reattach the iPod to the computer...reload the iPod and it should work ok..
if need be...reload all the music onto a different folder on the laptop/pc..
point iTunes default to your new music library...
it all should work now one way or the other...as it sounds like the iTunes got
with
old and new version files....
wiping out all the files and starting fresh should cure the problemm
if not...get rid of Vista and go to XP...(but do a backup of all your key doc and excel and so forth, data
files...
Vista sucs bigtime,.
