How's that go-----a fair price is one that the seller can make the buyer happy to pay  ;D

That's pretty much it in a nut shell.
If you like and are happy than it was the right price...
If you hate it and are unhappy than no matter what you paid it was to much...

What's the sticker price vs the dealer asking price?  I would expect to pay a minimum of 15% less than MSRP and maybe 20-22% (and maybe even more discount on a higher priced rig.  That's assuming no trade. If you have a trade, the "price" gets murky because the trade-in value usually incorporates a discount from the MSRP as well as thee actual value of the trade.

MSRP 78,081.00
ruvusa.com has one with 35k on the clock asking 44,999.00
camping world florida has one with 21k asking 50 and change.

to me the pics of each of the above look the same. really not sure what your asking. and unless you are accessing the forum on a phone feel free to type as much as you like. we like to see as much info as possible.
and again it is just MY opinion and you will do what you like anyway. I see no reason to buy new. unless you just want to be able to say no one else has ever used this rig......how many miles on the new one you are looking at? got pics?

And as stated if you are happy with the price then go for it.
in 2004 I bought a 1976 Austin mini for 9k delivered to my door then spent 7 or 8k making it the way i wanted. today it would sell for close to 7k. Am I happy with my purchase? You bet. would I do it the same again? In a heartbeat.

Get the rig if you like it. if you are buying as an investment.............I don't think RV's are an investment anyway.

I haven't seen the RV in person as of yet.  We were at a show here in town and this particular model was on "special" for what appears to be about 26% under MSRP.  It matched all of our criteria and appears to be a good price.  I hope to see it this weekend and pick it up the following weekend.  I will post pictures and more information over the weekend.  I am waiting to see what options if any the unit has, I think it has a few.

The online NADA RV guide says  a Thor (Four Winds) Chateau 28A has a base MSRP of about $78,000, so $57k does indeed sound good. Usually a "show special" is about 14-15% off MSRP.  Any options would be extra, as would delivery charges.  In fact, that offer is so unusual I would be suspicious and looking for a "catch".

Let us know how it works out.

Just got off the phone, with a buddy of mine who sold new and used campers and I was talking to him about how much markup is there on a new camper. What was said to me was 20 to 25% from the mrsp and some almost 30% hope this will help you out and good luck with your dealings  ;D

Hello Vmax!

Thank you for sharing how much you paid.  What year is yours?  How long have had it?  have you had any issues with it?  Is there anything you would have done different?  Have you camped without hookups yet?  How long until you filled the gray tank?  Are you towing anything?

Thanks Rafael

Hi Rafeal, mine was a 2008 , had it for 2 years. I pulled a 4 door jeep wrangler with it and had no problems. Ive camped out in Quartzite with no hook ups, it came with an Onan 4000 generator so always had electric power when I wanted it, I could go for 5 days before filling and draining my tanks. Its a good motorhome for the price, the mega storage it has is great for a 29 ft unit. You dont need to worry about a step and its probably the easiest RV to get in and out off.
