In July I plan a short trip 4-5 days from Houston to Palo Duro Canyon.  The main reason for the trip is to see the play in the park. I plan to spend a day or two in Palo Duro enjoying the park. My question is what else is there to see in the area? Thanks Joe

Visit the museum in the town of Canyon.  I forget the exact name but it is a museum of the settlement of the west.

Thanks for the input.... On the list......

Definitely visit the museum.  It is absolutely fantastic, something for everyone.  Allow plenty of time.

There are numerous, beautiful hiking trails to enjoy this stunning canyon. If horseback riding is your thing, there is an outfitter in the canyon as well.

Enjoy and be sure to make reservations for the campground. Reserve America worked well for us. But remember to do this in advance and not 2 days before your trip.
