So we've seen posts about euro-travel, and I've got to say that taking your 13 M RV over there would be a mistake. There were many times our tour bus (following major highways) had to stop and peek around corners to see if someone was coming, sometimes backing up to let others pass. The driver said his bus was 12 meters long, so I assume it compared to my unit.
My wife thought I was nuts looking at campers along the way, and attached some pics for your enjoyment. The tow hitch was odd in that it appears to be a "strong-arm" ball hitch, with formidable hardware on the camper receivers. All tow vehicles were simply "family cars" ( if you consider a Mercedes 600 Series a family car that is). There were even a couple horse trailers at the one rest area we stopped at near Zurich.
The campgrounds were simply parking lots with a little space, and our guide said it is permitted to stop anywhere and camp (as long as you don't interfere with the right of way).
I will add more photo's when i get unpacked.
