OK, I need some help from all you southwestern folk regarding staying in Las Vegas.  We will be there for about 10 days.  We will, occasionally, have our 2 grandsons with us (ages 4 and 1).  Our daughter will be married at Caesar's Palace.  I am debating between the Oasis and Circus Circus.  Would you recommend one over the other?  What about activities for the kids?  I am thinking we will be doing a lot of bicycle and tricycle-riding - so pavement would be OK.  How close is each one to Caesar's? They are very comparable in price, so that's really not an issue.  Thanks (again!) for everyone's help.

The last time we were at the Oasis it had lots of pavement, grassy areas, a put put 9 hole golf course, 3 swimming pools (one for kids) and is fenced in with a security guard at the entrance.  The clubhouse has a small B'fast/Lunch restaurant

Circus Circus campground is in a converted parking lot adjoining Circus Circus although it has an big indoor kids area with rides and other carnival type things to do.  It also has a big casino where they perform circus acts.  No swimming pool.

Either one you would have to drive to Caesars.  My guess is Oasis 6 miles and Circus Circus 3 miles from Caesars.

I hope you are talking about coming to Las Vegas after October and not now.  You won't be doing any bicycling and tricycling riding in May. Your A/C won't be able to keep the temperature down to any reasonable level. Forget the idea of sleeping at night. Here are the weather averages for Las Vegas:

Even though Circus Circus is closer to Caesar's and has fun stuff for the kids (the one year old won't care anyway), the Oasis is a more pleasant environment to my way of thinking.  Just try to get in a site on the east side rather than the west side against the freeway wall.  The Oasis also has a shuttle to take people up the Strip.  You didn't mention when you plan to be in L.V., but it tends to get downright HOT after May.  As Tom said, too hot in summer for many outdoor activities like bicycling.  Which brings up another point.  The Circus Circus RV park is asphalt and in the summer asphalt can get to 160 degrees so that's another reason to choose the Oasis if this is a summer wedding - much less asphalt to warm up your RV.

Thanks everyone, the wedding is in May, so the Oasis it is.  Hopefully we won't combust!  ;D

We have returned from our trip - 3 wonderful weeks and 1 wonderful new son-in-law! The wedding in Caesar's Palace's Venus Gardens was beautiful and the Oasis RV Resort certainly exceeded our expectations.  There is no longer a shuttle service available to the strip, but Caesar's, as well as the Bellagio, offer a free parking lot for oversized vehicles, so we drove the truck everywhere.  We were stopped by Homeland Security before Hoover Dam, but they finished their inspection before I could grab a soda from the refrigerator, so that's really a non-issue!  As you said, the weather was HOT!  So we just spent lots of time in the pool.  I can see the need for an additional air conditioner in the southwest that we really don't need in western PA!  Thanks again for all your help.  This is one big, beautiful USA!

The Oasis has a lovely hall for recptions and such shuld you wish.. I think it's owned by Harrah's so though he shuttle does take you to the strip. It only stops at selected places. Like Paris and Bally's and Harrahs    My daughter works at Bally's 4am to noon, blackjack
