I have a roof leak in my bathroom around the skylight/vent.  I don't have the means to perform a leak test on the rig.  I already took off the old sealant and did a thorough job of applying new sealant around the vent.  There is a vent pipe located near the edge of the roof close to the bathroom skylight that may be the culprit.  Are there any common roof areas that the leak could be coming from? I did not do a great job of covering the roof rails (screw areas) this year or the vent pipe I mentioned.  Just hoping someone can point me in the right direction before I reapply the entire area.

Thanks

No easy answers without being there.. and even then..

Plumbing vents are a fruitful source of leaks.  If in doubt remove the vent and reinstall it so you can clean up the sealant under the flange and replace it, and check for cracks etc while it's off.  Covering the whole thing with goo only confuses matters and won't solve anything.
