We are looking for somewhere really beautiful to camp in Michigan this summer. Lake views, waterfalls, etc. any recommendations?

And do it right away. You cannot get all of those at the same place, but try Taqhuamemon Falls and Grand Marais in the UP. Also Aune Osborn city park in Sault St Marie, MI, for views of the big ships as they come out of or into the locks.

If you have never been to Mackinac Island, you ought to go, at least for one day. https://www.mackinacisland.org/ Mackinac is an island between the lower and upper peninsulas of Michigan in Lake Huron. You can stay in St Ignace or Mackinaw City in an RV or hotel, but no motorized vehicles are allowed on Mackinac Island, so if you want to spend the night, you will have to stay in a hotel. You can take your bikes on the ferry or rent them there. NO electric bikes allowed!!!! Everything on the island is by bike or horse-drawn carriage. (You can rent a horse-drawn carriage, by the way. The horses are pretty smart and know where to go. My adult son rented one and he has never gotten closer than maybe 20 feet to a horse in his entire life, and he managed, so you can too.) Or just hire a horse-drawn taxi and have them take you around to the Victorian houses on the island.

In fact, there is an 8-mile-long state highway that circles the island, but nothing with a motor is allowed on it--the only non-motorized state highway in the United States. People who go just for the day, by the way, are called "fudgies" because everyone buys fudge! The island was colonized by the French as a fur trading post in the 17th century, and there is a fort there that you should not miss.

And most importantly, it is pronounced "aw" regardless if you are in Mackinaw City or Mackinac Island.

UP is definitely beautiful and not too crowded.
I had camped in the UP in summer. There're plenty of lakes and most campgrounds are
situated on the lake shores, but lake shore campsites tend to get taken, it's the sites further away that are usually available.
I've been there in 2019 before the great outdoor rush that started in 2020, so not sure how it is there now.
But mosquitoes are crazy. I was camping with the tent and they had run me off rather quickly, I had too many bites.
If you use repellants and can use a lot of that you might not have a problem.

Waterfalls.. MI's Upper Penna has lots of them.. I lie Tahquamenon falls but the RV park is some distance from the water and falls.. In fact the Upper falls park parking lot is a good hike to the falls. But they are lovely.> There are other parks in the area that are better for large RV's
Lake views.. There is a small city park in Grand mare that's literally on Lake Superior.. Just a stairway to the beach. Vehicle size limits apply in both places I suspect.
There is also Straits State park right next to the Big Mack (Bridge) and thus Lake Huron. and only a hop from Lake Michigan (The bridge divides them) Big Lake State park in Indian River (Lower penna) shares a property line with a Catholic Shrine.. (Saint Kateri Tekakwitha was the first indigenous American to be canonized as a saint. Known as the “Lily of the Mohawks," she is the patroness of ecology and environment.) and the world's largest wooden cross.

There is the Dunes State park over on the Lake Michigan side. and other parks as well.
Michigan is the land of lakes.. most are small but we have 4 of the 5 big ones

Try Bay Furnace campground in Christmas on the UP. two loops offering booked and FCFS sites. Very short walk to the edge of Lake Superior and excellent bar, food and tour from the town. There's also some really good Casino camping in the area, well worth the visit!!

Check out Munising in the UP. Lots of waterfalls in the area. We have stayed at the Munising Tourist Park many years ago and it was really nice. Lots of great suggestions above.

For a change of scenery, be sure to take a few days to tour the Henry Ford museum, I kinda doubt anyone can walk through the entire grounds in just one day and see everything.
