I spent every summer of my growing up years at 7,000 feet in the Sierras (Huntington Lake).  We would run up above the tree line to play cowboys among the granite boulders.  We were told that we had to be Grandma's "legs" for the first few weeks.  Now I understand!  :D

I was in Quito Equador for approximately one year where the elevation is 95oo ft.  After while one can get use to the higher elevations.  Went over a few passes that were near 14000 ft.
